Well I received two of the eighteen (yea I know a bit much) disposable cameras today. It was a bit of a disapointment. They used a full camera in about 10 minutes on both cameras. I was kind of hoping to see her in a variety of the outfits I sent her, different moments, with her foster family members. It was like they were taking our monthly pictures one click after another. I know I shouldn't be complaining but I was really looking forward to these cameras. But anyways, it looks like the doctor is at the home. Yes I have a picture of the doctor but not the foster mother, father, or either brother. Okay back to my point, do the doctors make house calls normally? I was quite surprised to see the flat screen T.V. in the background. Maybe this was the doctor office I am not sure.

No answers on the doctor making house calls, but....

We gave our FF 10 disposable cameras and a note asking them to use them one a month and I never recieved any of them back. I did get 10 pictures of dd and they were all within the same day! I loved our FF, but was a bit disappointed, oh well, I guess...

Sorry you didn't get what you expected, it can be hard sometimes.

It is possible that a previous family she fostered a child for gave her the TV.

We got no cameras back from one foster family, and, similar to you, two from the other family, all seeming to be taken at about the same time. Better than nothing, but not all I had hoped for!

The doctors in guatemala will come to the hotel so I guess they could also go to a home. I know that my little girl went to Dr. Montiel's office because I recognized dr. equipment in background and tile backgrounds.....I have even seen other people's pictures against that same background.

Yes, it does seem that you have to be quite explicit on what kind of pictures you would like. Our FMs did a fairly good job - getting variety, including people in our kids' lives, etc. after explaining to them several times what we'd like. I did want them to include photos of outside - their house, street scenes, etc. Didn't happen. I have to think their thoughts are something like "who wants a picture of a house?" Oh well, one tries...

We gave our FM 4 cameras and got one back on our last visit trip. We sent down four more but have no idea if we'll get any back this time. We can only hope.

We had a "mixed bag"--sent down two cameras to ds number one's fm, but got nothing back. With the second ds, we got wonderful pics! She posed him in different spots, doing different things, and even took pics at the park! As a gift to her, I had one of those photo books made up at Snapfish, using all the pics I had of him (which were many, including hers) so that she could have a keepsake of the pictures she took of him.

I'm sorry you didn't get back as much as you had hoped, though. That is disappointing.

We sent 6 cameras, received 3 back----one filled with pictures of the fm with Marissa before we met her in the lobby for pick-up. We asked for family photos, holiday photos, etc. Disappointed, yes, but there are some photos of her ff that she otherwise wouldn't have had, plus it's a glimpse inside her foster home.

I'm so sorry to read that this didn't work out for you. We had just the opposite experience. We sent down 5 or 6 cameras, and received all of them back. Then, DH got the photos developed in Guatemala, and went through all of them with the foster family, so we knew exactly who was in each picture, where it was taken, why it was taken, etc. Our FM took pictures during the entire time she had our son, at every imaginable place. We are so thankful to have the year he spent with his foster family captured in photographs, and I am certain he will cherish them when he gets older.

We sent down a disposable camera and when we had it developed you could tell it was all taken in the same day b/c he was wearing only one of the outfits we sent down and they just moved him around the house. No pics of foster family or anything else! Most of the pics were of him laying in the bed. (no wonder his head is flat!!! LOL)

Oh gosh....we had a different experience too. We sent down two cameras and our foster mother took some awesome pics for us. She did spread the photos out over several months and managed to get some of their family and home in them too. I was really grateful when I had them developed. Our foster family is just amazing. I wish I could bring them home with us too.

That is too bad, I had the opposite experience alot due to the children in the home that loved to take photos. We also sent disposable video cameras for important events - priceless. FM has a copy of everything and I think she looks at them as often as we do.
