I was curious if any PAP's out there have had the birthmom interview yet involving an older child?? If so, how did it go??? Our DD is 5.5, we are still waiting.

Our BMI is scheduled for Monday(5-26) with our 8 yr old and also my friend who has a 4 yr old. Please pray that the interviewers will have compassion on the older children. I can't imagine how traumatic it will be just for them to be there!
I will post how it went when I find out.

We do not have an interview scheduled yet. Our little boy is 2 1/2.

Our daughter is almost 3; birthmom interview has not been scheduled but, then again, birthmom has been interviewed numerous times throughout our long process, including as recently as Feb (which allowed us to finally be moved from Investigations to regular PGN, where we continue to sit). Am curious if every birthmom will need to be interviewed before cases are released.

Ours was scheduled for last week but had to reschedule because there wasn't enough time to get bmom in and she will need a translator. PGN is asking for 2 weeks to secure translators for interviews that need them.

Rather frustating in my opinion as you would have thought they would be aware that translators would be needed in some of these cases.

So we have nothing definate but are assuming sometime within the next two weeks we will hear. We have talked to our 6 yr old about what is going to happen so that he will not be surprised or unaware of what is going on. He asked a few questions but not many. Knowing him, he will be incredibly nervous having to do this. He has been through so much already it just brings me a flood of worry, concern, anxiety and many other emotions thinking of what all this precious child has experienced in his life.

Praying all of the interviews will go quickly and smoothly.

Our Big Girl is 13... My heart just breaks for her and Her Mother. I pray that nothing is said in front of this child that will make her Mother uncomfortable or look bad in her Daughters eyes...

Making both of them go through this is just torture for them.

Please pray ALL the prayers you know for these children and thier Mothers....

Our son is 5 and no interview scheduled yet. I am hoping nothing is said in front of him that would just break my heart. I hope they are mindful of the impact that this could have on an older child.

Our daughter is 5 and her interview has not been scheduled yet. I am very worried as well because she was just relinquished not even a year ago, and she misses her birthmom very much.

Our BMI was yesterday with our 8 yr old. My agency director told me it lasted about one hour with the 8 yr old present the whole time. They kept asking the bmom over and over why she is giving up her child. I do not know any other details. Another BMI from our agency was also yesterday with a 4 yr old. That interview lasted 3 hours! The little girl was in there the whole time. It really grieves me knowing that these girls had to suffer from all of that! With both cases the bmoms did not take their child back!

I just received news from my agency after speaking personally to our attorney. Our BMI was handled in a very respectful manner and the bmom was not coerced at all. He said it was just difficult for her to be there especially with her daughter. So there is hope that some interviewers have a heart! I pray that ALL the older children will have compassionate interviewers!
