Develpmental chart out there?
I'm looking for something out on the web that can give a general idea of what your child should be doing at a certain age. My child just is turning 2 and think he might need services from our county. I don't want to go through the whole process of inquiring w/o some baseline of where he should be verbally etc. I'm mostly worried about his speech as he only says a handful of words and they aren't really clear. Also he falls down a lot. Basically whenever he starts to run, he will either fall down(not too far after he's started to run) or run into a wall etc b/c he can't really stop.

Here is some good information from the CDC.
Learn the Signs. Act Early. Important Milestones: By The End Of 2 Years-NCBDDD Do keep in mind that there is a wide range of 'normal' though. But don't think twice about having him evaluated if you have any concerns. You can get him help if he does need it, or put your mind at ease if he doesn't. I had my son evaluated for speech at age two and while I was really concerned going in, I found out he didn't qualify and while at the low end, his speech development was normal. And it was my two early talkers that weren't 'normal.' ![]() Good luck!

We just had our son seen by Early Intervention last week, and I'm really glad we did. My daughter I never had checked out, and I wanted to but our pediatricians kept telling me she was fine. Well, my gut feeling was right and at 3.5 years old, she was diagnosed on the spectrum. I AM NOT SAYING YOUR SON is on the spectrum, BUT if I would have had her checked out, that is all the years she would have had therapies for on things that are really hurting her today (OT, speech, PT).
Fast forward to my son, we had him checked out thinking he was ok, but to make sure. He is now getting speech services, and they are watching him carefully for his OT skills. I really urge anyone that thinks they *may* need services, to just call. That is all it takes, the paperwork is not that troublesome at all, and its one day for an hour of your time. It is worth it. Good luck!

You can also pick up the book "What to expect the toddler years"- it has developmental milestones in each section.
Love to you,
