What do you need to do if your spouse can't go on pickup

Just wondering what we might have to do if only one of us can go on pick up trip. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You'll need an affidavit from you dh. It will need to be notorized. You'll be the one signing the I600 at the Embassy. Ohh.... and you'll need to take your dh's passport with you too. I did both my pickup trips by myself.

DH had to take 4 notarized color copies of my passport and 4 Powers of Attorney. I also had to get my signature notarized on all of our pick-up documents beforehand. A copy of our tax return had to be county-certified as well (along with W-2s)!

You only need to take your tax returns if you did not visit prior to exiting PGN. They asked to see my dh's "original" passport when I picked up J.R. last year. Thank goodness I had it with me. I picked up Julian last December and they asked for my dh's passport. The forms that came attached to the E-pink, the I-600 signed in front of them and the affidavit from my dh.

I picked up our daughter alone and my DH picked up our son alone after both of us had visited. We need a notarized copy of the non-traveling spouse's passort to show we visited (we were not comfortable taking the actual passport but some people do), a POA specific to the adoption (PM if you need the verbage), and an I600 signed and notarized but not dated by the non-traveling spouse.

If it is an IR4 visa you will need all the additional paperwork associated with an IR4.
