Question Readoption in South Carolina

Hello everyone! I need some advice. Has anyone on the forum readopted in South Carolina? I need to get on Austin's post haste as the situation in Guatemala has me worried. I'm sure no one will come get my little guatling - however, I want to get his US Citizenship ASAP. Has anyone done it themselves?

I did it myself...

First I went to family court and paid a "fee" ( min $10-15) for the documentation on how to do it myself. I had to apply for G884 ( original documents) and since I had recently moved to SC had to get a local social worker to do a post placement ( $300) b4 filing the documents ( filing was approx $150).

There were quite a few documents that had to be sent certified to Columbia SC which was about $8-10 each time and then a small filing fee @ the end another $15.

So it added up to close to $500 to do myself but was relatively simple just "TIME CONSUMING" ( mostly getting the G884 documents. ) --- The hardest part was explaining what I needed @ Family Court and them finding someone who knew anything about "domestication of a foreign adoption."

Good Luck and feel free to contact me if I can help in any way!
