Hello,

I am starting this thread to gather info about the Grand Tikal. I don’t have a full list of questions so I’ll just post them as I think of them.

Is there a scale in the gym there? If there is, can anyone just go in and use it?

I don't remember seeing a scale but anyone can use gym. They have excercise classes that are offfered also. We didn't attend any though. Gina

I didn't use the gym but my husband did every day. He liked it but did not go for very long because he hated spending time away from his little baby girl xoxoxox

I'm not weight obsessed, honestly. I am asking about the scale so we can weigh our baby. I can weigh myself and then hold our baby and weigh both of us to get an idea of baby's weight. You wouldn't catch me in the gym for any other reason!

I am laughing I was really surprised to see the scale question and was thinking, 'Gosh, That diet must be working well for her. How come I can't stick to one like that.' Now I feel better. LOL
Actually you thread has me thinking that if ever we get out of PGN , that we might stay in the Grand Tikal. So Thanks. Bernie

I can't answer the scale question, but I can tell you the most important thing about the Grand Tikal...Giovanni...at the concierge desk. He will take care of you.

I second the recommendation regarding Giovanni (he's cute as a button too!) and am so glad to hear you aren't weighing yourself...I was thinking, jeez, this woman is going to get her baby and all she can think about is if she gained or lost a pound! LOLOL

Giovanni is THE MAN! Seriously---he is the best thing about this hotel! He will do anything to help out!!! Have a great trip!

Giovanni is great and so are all of the other door men, they will do anything for you. One of them (i forget his name) is studying to be a doctor and was great help with some questions we had about Eva's formula. They were all so wonderful to us on each of our 3 stays there. Have a great time!

Now I am laughing right out loud about my original post!! It wasn’t until after I read the first two replies that I realized that I might be giving the wrong impression. Then I thought, “Oh my gosh, they all must think I am crazy!” Why is this woman going on a visit trip to run off to the gym and obsess about her weight? It’s just too funny. OK, 1,2,3-2,2,3-3,2,3…

Julie great blog, it looks like you will have Vanessa home soon so she can stay put and not have to deal with the constant change.

I do have Giovanni on my list of “Things to know about the Grand Tikal”. He is highly recommended all over the place!
