The Bedtime Battle
Well...not so much of a battle as it is just a shift in the plan; a gliche in the matrix if-you-will. Let me paint the scene...
Olivia comes home at 10 months. She was in bed at 7 and up at 6 with 1-1.5 hour naps in between. Turned 2 and started going to bed a little later...but no later than 7:30. Then, in Januaryish, she started playing in bed until 8 so I put her to bed at 8. **let me footnote to say that she is still up between 6 and 6:30. Sometimes even 5:30...yea, I know! Now, as of a week, she hasn't been falling asleep until 9! And honestly, I wouldn't care if she didn't wake up so stinkin early. She doesn't cry or protest...she just plays...or sings...or talks to herself... I am wondering if maybe her naps are too long. She naps much longer at school than at home. The good news is SCHOOL IS OVER IN 15 DAYS (but who's counting) and I'll have some time to do some "action research" to see if shortening the nap makes a difference. She doesn't seem cranky or irritable during the day and her teachers haven't commented. I have always worried that Olivia wasn't getting enough sleep. She never seemed to sleep as long as her classmates. Is this normal? Any ideas of what it could be other than that?

My two year old falls asleep around 9:00 pm and wakes up between 6:00 and 6:30 each day. He takes a 2-2 1/2hour nap each afternoon. I'd wish he's sleep later on the weekends, but no such luck. Maybe when he's a teenager I'll get more sleep.

DD is 22 months old and goes to bed at 7:30- I stay with her until she falls asleep which is usually around 8:00. She gets up at 5 AM. She'll nap around 1.5 hours.

My little darling doesn't like to go to sleep until 9 or 9:30 and I have to wake him at 7 am. On our days off he will wake at about 7:30. At daycare he will nap for 2 hours but at home I will be lucky to get him to nap for an hour.
I worry he doesn't get enough sleep too but I try everything to get him to nap and go to sleep earlier and nothing works. He is now on to most of my tricks! Oh, and he is 2 years 8 months.
