In our arms for 1 year today
Today at approx 11:00 am Lucas was placed in our arms forever. I'll never forget that day. I was so happy to finally have my little boy with me forever yet so scared at the unknown as a first time parent. Lucas was 10 1/2 months old at the time and we struggled very much for about the first 3 months with attachment. As I sit here writing this though, my little boy is next to me, eating his breakfast and blowing kisses to me with a big happy grin on his face. We've come so far together and I never knew I could love someone so much. For all of you still waiting, I pray for you everday and can't wait to see those posts about your first day together as a family. Here are a few pictures, the first taken one year ago, the second after he came home, and the next were few were taken last week.

Amie, it is so hard to believe it's been a year. We are coming up on a year next month and I just can't believe it! It feels like we waited all this time and more for them to come home. And then, once there here time just flies by.

Congratulations - I must say little Lucas is THRIVING and what a handsome boy he is! Truth be told it looks like the entire family is thriving. For those who are still waiting, especially the long-timers ... it WILL happen and the pain of the journey will slowly ebb away.
