Arrgghh has anyone been asked for their homestudy?

The agency said to bring a notarized copy of my home study. She said we probably don't need it but to bring it just in case. Isn't going to happen!!! Duh, how is she going to sign it tonight and get it notarized???? She sent me this email at 5pm tonight and I fly out at 10am tomorrow.

No, we weren't asked for it for either pickup trip. I seem to remember reading something about it on the back of the pink slip when we were in GC for the first pickup trip, but by then it was too late-- we were already in GC without it! So I took an extra copy the second time, but the pink email hadn't said anything about it-- and I wasn't asked for it.

Your agency is a little late with their email! I wouldn't stress about it. If you have an extra copy that's not notarized or whatever, go ahead and take it, but I wouldn't worry about it. Since the pink email didn't mention it, how could the Embassy hold you responsible for it? Relax and enjoy your trip!

Don't stress about it. We weren't asked for it last time and until your post, I didn't even think about it, although I have seen some posts where other PAP's were told by their agencies to take one as well. I have never seen anyone that actually needed it. Don't worry!!

Our agency told us to bring a copy (tho didn't say notarized) but said it's "rarely" asked for.

I am hoping for an appointment soon....

and I asked my agency about it already. They said I don't need one at all.....I was worried about getting mine updated because it is very old after all this time I have been in process.

If you have one, I'd take a copy (un-notarized) because it wouldn't hurt. That's what I plan to do just in case...

Our agency told us to bring all of our documents, including home study, to our appointment. We didn't need any of it. Nobody asked us for any paperwork. Try not to stress too much. Have a great trip!

We were never asked for any of the papers the agency told us to bring. I think if you visited (and you did) then you should bring the extra papers just to be safe, but you probably won't need them. I would just take a copy of your homestudy.

Have a great trip!

Did have it and did NOT need it. Try not to stress. And if any way maybe she can fax you and take that copy but else don't fret. Have a wonderful uneventful pick up trip. Hugs, Anna

In just shy of 4 years here I have never once heard of anyone needing it. Plenty of people say they were told to bring it, but I don't know of anyone who has ever needed it. And honestly, I can't phathom what they would possibly ask for it for. If it makes you feel any better, if you look at the Embassy website they list the documents that you need for pickup and a notarized homestudy is definetly not on the list.

You will be fine!

We just had our USE apt 2 weeks ago, you will NOT need it. In fact, you will not need about 3/4 of what they tell you to bring. They just rather have you be safe than sorry. But your fine, go and enjoy your pick up trip. All will be well. Blessings, Susie
