They just changed the category to "Adopting Mom".

I'm guessing it was their quick reaction to the messages.

I still don't like it all.

Hi. I always read all the prior posts before I respond to something-- always. Except now.

My horridly straight hair is standing up and my jaw is still dropped.

"Non-Mom"?!!!

I am a single man, and if anybody ever suggested that I was a "Non-Mom", I would be seriously pissed.

I am my son's father. But last time I looked, I was a Mom, too. A real one.

Excellent work ladies (and gentlemen) it does appear that at least they've changed the name of the category to "Adopting moms" not much better but some improvement.

Nonmom
Boycotts
Channel

i had to laugh bc when i went to the home page of adoption.com, 4 outta 5 of the most recent discussion were about this topic...here are some more people who helped make a difference:

It still really chaps my *bleeep* that we are separated out with labels. It is Mother's Day and we are all mothers, for Pete's sakes!

I am very proud that my children are adopted, but they are not my "adoptive children" first - they are my CHILDREN. And I am not their "adoptive mother" first, I am their MOM.

Even though they have now changed it to "Adopting Mom", I am still offended they have to group us and not only group us but we're still in the same category as grandparents right? Not that they aren't important but come on. We are MOMS.

I agree...still separating us from the real deal: bio-moms, conferring us adoptive parents to second-class status. I really could cry...my 1st mom's day, and I still get punched in the stomach!

I am still bothered by the adopting Mom label. I am also a single Mom and a working Mom, There is a better way to call out Moms and their path to Motherhood. Eventhough it was changed, it still is wrong.

I don't care that they changed the category name I'm still P*****. Here's the letter I wrote and next is Teleflora.

I can't express to you how sad and angry I am that you consider me a Non-Mom. I guess I am more sad than angry. I waited many years to be a mother and by the grace of God, he has entrusted me with the care of two of his most precious creations, and for you to tell me that I am a Non-Mom saddens me to my soul. I'm sure you didn't mean to personally offend me, and I'm sure that you didn't think that what you called this category would have this effect on me and I'm sure that you didn't understand how horrible this mistake you made was...well you did all of those things to me. I hope that my children never ever have to hear that I am a Non-Mom, I know that they consider me their Mom, even if you don't. Oh, and please don't try to apologize on air to the thousands of adoptive parents that you have offended as none of us will be watching. I can also say for myself, my husband, my family, my husbands family and anyone else that I can talk to from now until the day I die, that I will not knowingly purchase anything from Teleflora. Thanks for reading my sad email and Happy Non-Mothers Day to all of the adoptive Non-Mothers out there. Again, I'm just sad that you made me sad today.

OH MY GOD!!! I am speechless.....even with the stupid new title they gave us. We DO NOT need to be in a special category because we ARE moms.

I guess this would make me a Non-Child as an adoptee. Let me see, on Sunday I am going to celebrate with my non-mom and my non-child since I am a non-mom myself?????

What a pack of fools! I am off to let each and every one of them know!!! Man, I am PO'd!
