Pictures of Kate's Party (Kate obviously missing!)
So, DH decided we needed to have a birthday cake and celebration for Kate turning 1 year old. So we stopped at Culver's on the way home from work to get a frozen custard cake. We put a candle in it and sang her "Happy Birthday" as well as making a wish! I thought I would be much more sad seeing she is STILL in Guatemala. Our attorney called our agency that day to tell us that our case is "simply awaiting signature." Not that it really means much at this point, but it was nice of her to let us know. She new it would be a "tough day" for us and thought that might help us make it through the day. We sent a cake, balloons, birthday outfit and small gift via Vilma (the basket lady). I guess our foster mom was VERY happy!
So, I'm sure when she is 10 years old and looks at these pictures she will think it is DORKY of her parents to be celebrating without her. It will be undeniable that we LOVE her so much!

Oh not dorky at all - she will beam with pride that her parents loved her so much that they had a cake for her. And that they could hardly wait for her to come home. Happy Birthday Kate! P.S. your DH is a smart, thoughtful guy but then you already know that.

That's so awesome!!!! She'll love that you had a birthday party for her!!! The pictures made me cry...but then again I'm a little emotional right now! LOL Can't wait to hear shes OUT!!!!!

Your post brought tears to my eyes. That is so sweet and will really mean alot to her when she gets older. I know it would me.
I noticed we have the same timeline, our referral just days apart. Although we had three kickouts unlike your two and we are not awaiting final signature that I know of (my agency "claims" they cannot know where my file is in PGN - sheesh, as if I am stupid to think that is true!). Congrats on your impending out, which I pray will come very soon.

Oh My Gosh!! That is sooo cool!! It brought tears to my eyes thinking of you two singing happy birthday to her!!
I think Kate is very lucky to have someone who loves her more than she will ever, ever know!! WoW!! I hope your case if finished soon so she can be home to enjoy all the love you have to give!!

That's not dorky at all, but you're right, she'll probably think it was. Kids really don't get us parents, do they??!! It was very sweet of you to have a party for her. I hope you have good news on your case very soon.
