Expiring Fingerprints Question

The end of May I need to send in the letter to USCIS ( Philly Office) to renew our fingerprints. What do I need to send in and what does the letter need to say? I do get that free extension right?

Thanks.

Stacy

Stacy, I just did this not long ago. I sent a letter to USCIS requesting my free fingerprint extension and included a copy of our I-171H. I got my re-print notification about 1.5 weeks later--it was through OKC USCIS. Hope that helps!

I think it differs by USCIS office. I just sent in the letter requesting the free fingerprints and a copy of my I-171H too, but I think I've heard others mention they need more info. If you can contact your USCIS office, you can ask them-- or just send in the letter and the copy of the I-171H and ask them if there's anything else they need. Good luck!

Stacy -

I used the Phila office last fall. I set up the appointment through infopass. When I arrived I had a copy of my current I-797C and a letter addressed 'To Whom it may Concern:' which stated our names, address, and that I was requesting the one-time, no-fee extension before the expiration date indicated on the form.

After we had our fingerprints taken, I faxed same info plus the stamped fingerprint forms to the USCIS office.

In MD, we didn't even need to send anything in. We went to the local ASC (Application Support Center) with our I797C and told them what we needed. The di deverything. We didn't need to wait or send a letter.
