Question Hotel San Carlos

Anyone have any experiences there? I know one family who stayed there and liked it, but I would like to hear your thoughts.

I've only been there to eat....the restaurant is small & feels very adult but they have high chairs. Some spaces to eat inside and others out. The food is very good, long menu with many choices, the fruit plate was great variety and my little girl liked it & I liked beef with mustard sauce

We stayed there 2 times. It is very nice, but after a few days we felt very confined. There are not many places to lounge around. They were redoing the outside patio in Jan, so it may be much better now. We are going to stay at La Casa Grande which is right next to san carlos, in 2 weeks. I went there to check it out on our last visit. It isn't as nice as San Carlos but much more kid friendly.

On the other hand, the food at san carlos is great!

Stayed 3 times...loved it! It is small compared to some of the other hotels but if you are not confined to staying there, it's perfect. The food is great, the staff is awesome and the suites have kitchen and living areas and are the same price as most other regular hotel rooms.

It is wonderful, we loved it. If your room is toward the front of the building, the street traffic is loud, especially the buses. However, we actually enjoyed it - we were able to sit with the window open and watch out at the street, which was so interesting - so we actually liked having the front room, but if quiet is important to you, you may want to request a room that doesn't face the street.

The restaurant is good, room service provided. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms had everything we needed - nice crib, baby bath sponge thing, sink, microwave.

I would definitely recommend.

Loved It!!!

It is wonderful! Stayed there a couple of times and it was awesome! We also had a room, suite, on the side by the road (3rd floor). We kept the windows open and watched the traffic! We also stayed once in a room on the backside and although it was a little more quiet, we missed the sounds and sights from the front.

The staff....GREAT, could not be any better. They were so good to us and our kids. Super friendly and anticipated our needs/wants before we ever asked!

While packing, we were so sad to have to leave. We were all teary, felt like we were leaving family. Even my husband who is in law enforcement and hardly ever emotional got teary too!

Food is great! A small but intimate atmosphere. And if you need or want any outside food, diapers, bottles, formula, etc., someone from there will gladly go pick it up for you (we paid them and was well worth it). My husband went most of the time but there was a couple of instances that we really needed them to go.

I highly rec. this and I know you will not be sorry!

We stayed there for pick up

The San Carlos is beautiful. We stayed in the two bedroom apt and it was very big with lots of room. The staff was great. The only problem I had was after a few days we felt very isolated. Just happens when we were there only one other adotpive family was there. They were also working on the outside area and no water in the pool. Next door at the La cases Grande there was a lot more acitivity with adotpive families. We stayed at the weston on a visit trip and there were more people to meet and they have more stores and places to walk around. Not as pretty as the san carolos though so it just depends on what you are looking for.. My husband loved it because he is not social. I missed haveing other families to talk to. It is close to the embassy. No AC but it never got hot with the windows open. Rooms do have all the essentials, hairdryers etc.

Stayed there also. You don't need air conditioning, it doesn't get that hot. Nice room. Not an american-style hotel which was nice because why go to another country just to experience things exactly like at home. It was close to the Embassy but a couple block walk to the mall and the other tourist stuff. That was fine with us as the kiddo loved being in the stroller and we walked a lot. The little garden area was nice. Food good. There is a convenience store on the next block which was handy for bottled water. I'd stay there or Casa Grande over the Westin anytime.
