Hi friends,

As I wrote in my last post, I just returned from Guatemala with all the clothing donations that you were so kind to send me.

While I was down there, I had the opportunity to visit a school in zone 1. I met with a kindergarten teacher and was even able to bring Annie ( who will be in kindergarten in September) to class. This was very cool!

In looking around the class ( and school because it was not just kindergarten) and talking to the teacher, there is such a need for school supplies- pencils, pens, markers, crayons, rulers, etc. I have decided that as my four children are ending their school year in the next couple of months, I would go shopping for school supplies for children in Guatemala who are only halfway through their school year. Their school years runs from January through October.

So...I am again asking my forums friends if anyone else would like to join me and donate any school supplies (pencils, crayons, pens, markers, colored pencils, rulers, etc).

If so, please PM me and I will send you my information so you can get it to me.

Thank you again for such a good response. I am in the process of answering everyone who either responded on here or sent me a message.

For people who will be sending something, would you mind just sending me a PM once you mail it so that I know it is on its way and I can look out for it!

PLEASE PM ME! I have a Guatemalan group of people and we get together every so often....I could send the info to all of them as well and maybe we could get an entier box together between all of to send to you. Please also let me know WHEN you need it all by. WONDERFUL IDEA!

Diane, I'm leaving for Guatemala next Wednesday and I have a TON of school supplies that I have collected to carry down as well! I will be returning in February to go on an educational mission trip!! If you need any contacts to send school supplies to schools I have some!! I am also planning to do a shipment when I return (possibly in Nov./Dec.) through Medrano to help the schools start off the new year right and fully supplied!! I'd be really interested in helping you so please PM!!

I also wanted to say I'm glad to see this forum is finally allowing this kind of post because I tried to post info on here a while back about a spanish book drive we were doing for a school and the moderators deleted it!! Kuddos to them!!
