Hello,

I have a quick question about what docs are needed for the Embassy appt. I just want to double check to see if things have changed since we brought our son home in '06.

We did take a visit trip so do we need the: I-864, last years taxes and/or employment verification letters? Last time we did not need to bring any of these because we did visit and therefore our son came home on an IR3 visa.

i just doubled checked with my agency & they told me that I didnt have to bring anything.. we visited as well

The appoint form from the Embassy will list the documentation required. If you have an agency, they should tell you what you need to bring. Some facilitators take care of some items.

The Vaccination Affidavit is required, but they will notarize it for you at the Embassy. I suggest you take care of that in advance.

We also have brought a completed I-864W with us both times (now and December). We have not been asked to produce 1040's.

Remember to bring your passport(s) to the Embassy on the appointment date, you will be asked to show these as proof of your visit.

I was told by my agency that if you have visited it is illegal for the Embassy to ask for tax returns or employment letters. That said, I visited and p/u trip in Oct and was not asked for tax returns, etc. They only asked for my passport and asked me to verify I had visited in August. That was the end of it.
