Our DNA was received at the embassy on 4/2. We are still waiting on pink due to a lost Visa 37 Cable. We were notified it was missing on 4/3 and have been working very hard to get this rectified. It STILL has not been sent to the embassy.

This is really meant to be an FYI... just because others have had their Visa Cable issues rectified in 24-48 hours doesn't mean that everyone does. If you have an issue, it may represent a significant delay in getting your child home. We had senators and congressmen involved right away. Did the infopass thing. Nothing has worked to speed this up. It probably would have never been resent to the national visa center had it not been for our senator's office.

If you look at my timeline, you will see I was in the same situation as you are in now. It totally stinks!!

Do you have someone at the NVC who is "expecting" it? We had ours sent from the USCIS office three times and the NVC just kept putting it in the regular mail.....crazy!!! We had our congressman's office involved in it the whole time. The NVC has major issues!! If you don't get this resolved soon, let me know. I may have a couple of ideas for you.

GabeMom, I am so sorry you are having to deal with this! I will be praying that they get it worked out ASAP!!!!

I totally recommend anyone out there who has had to renew their fingerprints or I-171h should check up on it now! Our agency sent out an email to us to verify that the Embassy had our new visa. I'm so glad we did because we had some confusion that took a few weeks to fix. Now it is all taken care of and we won't have to worry about it when we are waiting for pink.

This was for our ORIGINAL I-600A that was filed in August. This was not an extension. Just to let everyone know.

I too had the same "lost cable 37" issue. My senators did step in and we got it fixed.

However, another way to rectify this is to contact the office directly that issued it. There are unlisted "magic phones numbers" that exist but not accessible to the general public. If your senator's office can't get the phone number for you usually a social worker agency can get this number for you. Your records will be accessed immediatly in the computer and therefore your cable 37 can be resent to the embassy in GC very quickly; within 24 hours.

Hi there,

I too had issues with this. You probably have already done this - but I emailed a scanned copy of our original I-171 to the person who originally issued this in our local office, our local congressman, the NVC and the embassy in Guatemala. Not sure if it helped or not...

There is no number. Our social worker, congressman, and senator's office all contact the Memphis USCIS by the same email that we use. When people have called an older number that weren't allowed to speak with the adoption unit and told not to call again. Every office is not equally helpful! Memphis is one of the least communicative offices. Everyone has requested the information and they have REFUSED to send it electronically. Now we are stuck waiting to see if the NVC receives it... a week later.
