Who is (or has just been to) in Guatemala?
Hi Friends,
I am done packing all of the donations that people were so wonderful to send but now I need to pack for my family. What is the weather like in Guatemala right now? Should I pack shorts and short sleeve shirts for my kiddies. Will they need long sleeves and/or sweaters? Please help...hubby says I must pack very lightly and only take what I need after the many boxes and suitcases I packed up yesterday!!!! Thanks, Diane |

I was there April 4-8
From April 4-8, it was hot in the day at cool in the evenings. In other words, the enemy of those who want to pack light.
Have a wonderful trip!

I wore short sleeves but each of us had one sweater that would match everything so we could but it on and not take extra things to change into.

We have been to Guatemala in October, November, end of April and end of June. Each time we were able to take only a carry-on.

Diane, I'm so excited you're getting to visit again! You'll have to keep us posted on your trip.
Oops--this is supposed to be weather-related, and I have no new weather news for you. Have a great trip! Carolyn

We are with you girl. We did it last year and are doing it again this month. I think we will have at least 7 or 8 18 gal rubber maid containers. Thankfully, Continental isn't having an embargo right now. We leave on Thursday. We just used our carry on last year for our luggage and one for a diaper bag. This time we are taking our son back again but we are also picking up his brother, so we will need to take extra. I'm hoping to get away with three carry-ons for each of us and and the donations checked. We usually pack for spring like weather and wear a light jacket (so we don't have to pack it!).

We visited our 3 kids a couple weeks ago. Wore jeans & T-shirts the majority of the time but a few of the evenings were still pretty chilly so you might want to take a sweatshirt or light jacket for that.
Have a wonderful trip. Kathy |
