Hi All,
I haven't posted in a while. Kids have been home five months now and it is GREAT, with the exception of Kaleb and his daycare drop off (continuous screams for extended periods) When we started daycare it really stressed him out and his behavior declined at home too (increased cling, night terrors, etc) so we started Attachment Therapy to try to help him out and she suggested we change the drop off routine to break the current pattern. So here is what I am doing: I psych him up like an insane used car salesman all the way to daycare about all the fun things he will do there...then when we get there he gets a special piggyback ride all the way to his room....then he asks his daycare provider (with big boy voice) to give him bubbles (special treat) please and he gets to blow bubbles when we first arrive. It is working unbelievabley well and daycare drop off is so much better now (I used to DREAD it cause it was so awful and I felt horrible all day)....just wanted to share this with those of you who might be facing something similar- hopefully it will work for you too!
