Question Diaper Bags - Your Favorite and Why

I'm nesting. What can I say. I'm searching for the right diaper bag and wanted everyone's opinion. I don't particularly want one that has any characters on it ie Pooh Bear etc. I would like something that people don't immediately think 'Wow, check out that massive diaper bag'! One that is stylish but practical. And I would like one where I can justify the cost.

So please let me know what your fav. diaper bag is and why.

Thanks!!

Favorite bag

I have a Fleurville diaper bag, and I love it.
Funky prints, no characters or cutsie stuff, and also has this plastic outside which is easy to whip off.
Lots of pockets, a bottle carrier, wipe case etc. They have different sizes.
It was pricer, but I definitely have gotten use out of it. That said, I also have an Eddie Bauer bag, which we use when we travel out of town...a bit bigger and holds everything. I would never use it for day to day though because its's too heavy. But it is more of a guy bag, which my husband appreciates.

Petunia Pickle Bottom is great! I used one, a different one, with all three of my children and they hold up wonderfully. I hated to put mine away when we outgrew them!

We have gotten a LOT of use out of our Skip Hop bag and we like it a lot:

Skip*Hop

Lots of nice colors and patterns that are not to cutesy. (Though we actually got ours in simple black with a white trim - we got a neutral color so it would go with anything and my husband wouldn't look silly using it!) Lots of pockets, changing pad, etc etc. Our favorite feature since we live in an urban area and use our stroller ALOT is that it converts easily from a shoulder bag to one that you hang on the back of the stroller.

(Oops - I realize I'm not sure if I can post that link. If I can't, moderator please take it out. Thanks!)

I have to say that I love my Vera Bradley diaper bag. Lots of pockets- stylish and washable. It is big---but I can carry everything I need. We do have a skip hop that we use for daddy because the Vera is definitely "girly".

I just got this smallish/medium one off etsy:

Etsy :: jillyd :: The Jordyn Diaper Bag - You Choose the Fabric

I also have one of these, but haven't used it yet. It's bigger and laminated. Also very nice!

toys r us

Ours came from Toys R Us and it was an Eddie Bauer bag. It was like $40 dollars and it was plain tan. I used it for over a year. It was very durable and infact when Elijah started pre-school and needed a backpack, I took the changing pad out of the bag and through it away and put the pad in the back pack.

I washed it in the washer and it was fine, never tore up. I would buy another one if we adopt again.

We have the Lands' End one... LOVE it! There's room for everything and when it's done being used for its intended purpose - it can double as an overnight or carry-on bag!!

I could not find any diaper bags that I truly liked. I guess I really didn't want it to look like one. A couple months before my son was born, DH and I were at a powwow. I found a beautiful bag there, hand crafted, that I bought to use as a diaper bag. It has worked beautifully, perfect size and I love how I am able to include a bit of my son's heritage (Native American) in that.

I have a back pack one from One Step Ahead that I love. I even dump my own purse when I am using this one.

What I use now is a regualr back pack that has dividers in the main compartment. It makes is easy to divide up bottles/food in the first, diapers, wipes and an extra onesie in the 2nd, and toys in the 3rd compartment. I keep my stuff in the seperate front pocket. Because it is a backpack, it doesn't slip off my shoulder as I am wrangling two boys around.

The only other "diaper bag" I liked was the Lands End one. we still use it as a carry on bag when flying or an overnight bag for the twins.

I have a backpack diaper bag that I use when I need to carry a lot of stuff. When you are holding a baby the last thing you want to worry about is a bag slipping off your shoulder. I also have a cute bag from Old Navy that I use for when I go to the grocery store or someplace like that. I have 3 diaper bags that I got as shower gifts that I never use because they look too much like diaper bags ( I didn't have the heart to return them ).

Have fun nesting- it's so much fun!
