Cert. of Citizenship/CIS offices -- Chicago ??
HI,
We have an appt scheduled for us to receive my son's certificate of citizenship next week at the Chicago CIS. (He came home on an viosa that required readoption). Does anyone know whether there's any ceremony to this, or am I literally going in to pick up a piece of paper? We're trying to decide whether to take the day off from work, etc. and I wondered if anyone can share their experience with the chicago office or other local CIS' offices. Thanks! It's been forever since I posted -- wonder if any of my old pals are still out there? If so, a hearty hello from the Shmouse!

No info. for you, but good to see you posting! You might try PMing MaryMcCulley (sp? - but you know who I mean.) She is in the Chicago area. Congratulations on getting your son's COC!

Both my kids came home as citzens, however I do believe they have a little thing for the new COCs as some friends had to go that route.
