Praying for your friend and her baby - just an aside a dear friend of mine gave birth to twin boys at ... 23 weeks - one just a couple ounces over a pound and one just under 2lbs. They were in NICU for almost two months but now at 3 1/2 years old are thriving.

In my prayers also. I had a friend deliver at 27 weeks and the dr's actually said those babies sometimes do better than ones at 32 -35. THere was a pretty good explanation, I just don't remember. Sorry.

Amy,
They are in my thoughts and prayers. I just want to encourage you and your friend as well. Those little babies are so strong and resilient. My son was born at 27 weeks. He was in the NICU for 70 days and had a tough first year or two, now he is 5 and you would never know. He has played soccer for two years, is enjoying Kindergarten, and really picks on his little sister. Tell your friend to hang in there, it is really scary and it took longer than I thought it would for him to be okay. But the medical community can work wonders and those little babies can fight. She'll be rocking him in her arms in no time. Lots of prayers, Wendi |
