OT: need diaper advice- wetting through overnite

Dear all,

I know we have had discussions on diapers- but I think mine is a little more specific.

Background:
Aidan is 28 months old
We use Huggies Snug and Dry- I have tried pampers but they fall apart/disengrate on him (yuck)

Issue:
Aidan is now sleeping all night which means his diaper is massively full of wetness in the morning, so much so that he has leaked 2 nights in a row all over his sleeper, bedding, etc.

I love the huggies, we spent a lot of time and money getting the right diaper for him. They do fine 99% of the time. But I don't know what to do about overnights.
I do not want to restrict his fluid intake- he tends to drink less then I or the doctor would prefer.
I don't want to go back to getting up to chnage him in the night, because he is now sleeping through the night, which means I am sleeping through the night.

Any suggestions on how to keep him dry overnight? I don't mind a full, wet diaper in the morning, I just don't want him or he sheets all wet either.

Love to you,

My biological son had the same issue. We bought these diaper inserts that you place on the bottom of the diaper that helped. That was seven years ago though (unsure if they stil exist). I have also seen overnight diapers at target. I am not sure who makes them though. I have to say Pampers are great at falling apart and only bought them once.

I hope I was of some help

Are you using the Huggies Overnites? They are great and really hold a lot. John never leaks since he has been using them.

We've come close to leaking, so I use a larger diaper size for overnight, and this has worked for us.

Good luck!

after having more than our share of 2 little boys leaking, i wised up (thanks to mommytoeli) and got Huggies Overnights - one size bigger than normal. They work GREAT. For Sam, even those weren't enough, so we got the Pull Ups Overnights (one size bigger than normal as well). They also work great! No more leaks!

Also and I am sure all of you moms of boys know this, if you tuck the penis in the "down" position, it helps a lot too.

HTH!

Cloth Diapers

We use cloth diapers and on the cloth diaper sites they have solutions for overnights that would work with paper diapers as well, like a wool cover that you wear over the diaper and it keeps the mositure in. PM me if you want more info.

I used Diaper Doublers for both of mine. They are inserts that go inside the diaper to absorb more of the wetness. You should be able to find them at Target, Wal-Mart, Babies R Us or most major supermarkets. You might also try using them with the Huggies Overnights.

They also work great for long car trips!

I second the idea of the Huggies overnights one size bigger than you use during the day. I have also heard of people saying they wore two diapers on their child during the night; with the larger overnight diaper that didn't become nessasary for us but I just thought i would throw that in there in case the overnights don't work. hope it works for you!

We also love Huggies Overnites. Of course, my son woke up SOAKED this morning, but I think it was a fluke, maybe the diaper positioning or something.
