Which Dyson vacuum cleaner do you recommend? Where can I purchase this thing without giving them an arm and a leg?

I have the purple one. It is GREAT for pet hair. I haven't seen one though under $300. Maybe ebay?

We have the animal one....and I LOVE IT!!! It picks up animal hair like no other vacuum I have owned. I have a lab and a husky. If you know huskys, you know how much they shed. I like the attachments that come with the vacuum as well.

I believe we got ours at Linens n things with one of the 20% off coupons. It still cost a lot, but the coupon helped!

Funny you mentioned it because I just researched and bought a Dyson Animal.
Linens and Things had a DEC25 coupon for money off. And they had free shipping and a $50 LNT gift card, not sure if its still good (i think it was thru 1/8). It brought the Animal to $462 (not including gift card).
They didnt have anymore in stock in my area so I couldnt get that deal.
I did order it from a place online for $447 with free shipping. I havent received it yet though (just ordered though).

I have the red one. I bought it at Target for $399 in November. We have 3 dogs and 4 kids so it gets a lot of use. I love it and am contiually horrified by how dirty my house is on a daily basis (you can see the dirt and dog hair in the canister which you have to empty). I would highly recommend it!

I have the slimline one (it's gray) and I LOVE it! We got it at Lowes when they were offering a $100 store gift card with the purchase of a Dyson. But they are still really expensive. I have also seen them at kohls on "sale" and if you watch for one of their $10 store credit for every $50 you spend promotions at least you are getting that. Can you tell I just love a good excuse to shop!!!!

We have the purple one too. We love it. Or I should say, DH loves it, since he's the vacuumer. We bought it new on Ebay. I can't remember what we paid, but I think it was about $100 cheaper.

We have the purple one (I think it is called Animal) and with 3 dogs, 2 cats, a ferret and guinea pig, plus 2 kids ours has been thru the ringer. I too am amazed at the dirt that I get. I have had mine for 2 years and it is still working great. Target has them on sale so maybe check there. That is where I got mine.

I bought mine from Overstock and it was a refurbished model. Their refurbs are usually used in advertisements or photo ads, but they can't resell without calling them a refurb. Mine was waaaay discounted and it came with all the attachments in the box (just like purchased from a store.) It's a DC 14 Complete. I love it - one of the best purchases I ever made.

Oh - I should also mention that when I did my research I found the one with the rollerball is not a good choice - and as long as you purchase the DC 14 or above (I think) it will work well on pet hair. I have a sheltie and a border collie mix so I have some dog hair - mine works great.

I also have the Purple one, I got it at Costco and they sell a it with some extras that is packaged specifically for Costco. I actually joined Costco just to get the deal on this Dyson.

My only complaint is sometimes it has a little too much power and if your not careful you can be sucking up things you don't mean to.

I have the purple animal hair dyson. I love it, although I don't get to use it often(darn!) my husband and kids use it all the time. They spill something, uh oh! I better go get the dyson. They know how to use all the gadgets better than I do. To me it's priceless!!!

Mine is yellow and I love it. maybe the dc17. anyway I got mine for a great price at Kohls.com, It was on sale plus I had a coupon code for 30%off. (you can find them online if you do not get it in the mail.) something that expensive usually ships free also.
