Hey everyone I am new to the board but frequent Guatadopt quite a bit. We are in PGN going on 9 weeks Wed. Our bc is coming from Chinaulta and I am wondering if anyone out there has had recent dealings with them and how long it is taking now. I know a while back is was taking a long time. Thanks for the info in advance

I haven't been on the forum in a while, but I can tell you that when we were trying to bring our daughter home from Chinautla, we got caught up in a terrible situation with the mayor causing delays and all kinds of trouble. I ended up having to go see the mayor myself, and he finally relented and released Izzie's bc. I think it took around 3 months to finally get the bc from there. The mayor is a moron and about as corrupt as the day is long.

I pray things have settled down there now, and you bring your little Chinautleco home very very soon.

Hi there,

We are waiting for a Chinautla bc. We have been waiting 4 weeks today. Unfortunately, the mayor there has an issue with adoptions and he is very slow to release them. I think the average wait seems to be about 8 weeks. I wish I had better news to share. I am down in Antigua fostering our son until we get it. I am trying to do a few things to make it faster while I am here and have another attorney helping us. At this point, my goal is to have it in another 2 or 3 weeks. I will post when I get it!

Well I am going on a visit on the 11th and hope to be out of PGN by then. If you all were me would you try to see the mayor while there? Thanks

Hello. We have been waiting for our BC since 11/21 and have not had any luck yet. Remember they were shut down quite a bit last week due to the holiday. A group of attorneys did go to the ADA for help with obtaining the BC from this area. Someone in the area is new ... either the mayor or the CR and the Mayor offered that as the reason why the BC's were taking so long. I will let you know as soon as we hear anything (you will probably be able to hear me screaming from any point in the US LOL). We were told they were going to have it complete last week but then we were told they were shut down until today. We have asked our agency if we need to go there and visit the Mayor and they are telling us to leave it up to the attorneys. They are going daily to obtain and we have been in 6 weeks. Maybe we will all get lucky and they will release all !!!

Please post as soon as you get it. My agency is telling me the same thing, to just leave it to the atty. We are supposed to meet with her on our visit trip. Hope you hear soon.
