I totally can relate! We just came home with two and now working on getting our baby girl home, but I still want one more! Either I have gone completely insane...or, maybe that is it...I am just insane! I really want to bring home two girls. I need that POA extension to be "for real" and to become wealthy at the same time.

I understand how you feel. We don't even have our baby girl home yet and we're already making plans for adoption #2.

I hear ya! Once Isabelle came home I instantly wanted a sister for her to grow up with. Unfortunately right now its not financially possible. At first my hubby said no way and now he keeps bagging her old clothes and toys and saving them just in case!

I understand. We are in the process of adopting DD #1 (we have 2 bio sons) and I told my husband that if her bio mother had another I would want to adopt again. He told me he hopes that doesn't happen because I think he would feel the same way (and we would then have 4 - which he feels would be a little much). I have read that Guatemala is trying to bring down the cost of adoptions with this new system in place. I have always felt it is a shame that adoption costs anything at all - which precludes many many many great families from adopting children. Hopefully, that will change.

I really know how you feel. In March of this year, our agency basically told us "now or never" for adoption #2. We weren't sure, we were planning on building a house and were supposed to put a bid on a lot later on that day.

Well, it didn't take long to make up our minds - the house money went to the adoption, and here we are - in 3 bedroom bungalow waiting for our precious Caroline!

Keep dreaming and keep saving. It all seems to start there. Maybe for now it is not an option and maybe Guatemala will not be an option even later. I do hope you will be able to adopt from Guatemala but in our experience in adoption looking at different countries and situations helped bring home our children. Once we prossed for China, Korea and twice for Vietnam. None of our children came from those countries but we did bring home 6 children by adoption. It all started with a dream and a deep desire to bring home a child(ren). Keep dreaming I don't think you are insane at all. Hugs, Anna

I too understand how you feel. I feel my heart aching for 1 more baby girl. But DH would not even consider with our remaining debt from the other 2 adoptions and with how things are in Guatemala right now. But I am praying for one of our birthmom to have another one!

We would like to adopt again as well. Whether it is here and through the state or international is up in the air as of now. We do not wish the birthmother to become pregnant again so that we may adopt another child. We do not wish her to have to go through the pain twice.

My best friend placed a child for adoption when we were in college. It remained painful for her, especially after the adoptive parents stopped contact. She died 6 years ago.

As adoptive parents we should not view the birth parents as a factory for children. I have read adoptive parents on this board several times hoping that the birthmother becomes pregnant again, so that they may adopt another child. There are enough children that need loving homes, that there is no need to wish for birthmothers to beome pregnant again!

We're in the same position. However, my hubby wants time to be a family of 3, and just recover from such a long process. I respect his wishes, and understand where he is coming from. But I still hope!

I have it figured like this, I am gonna work for a year, and get all our bills paid off, and then if Guatemala is open for Adoption, then we'll start the process again, although with a different agency.

Arepa - I haven't been on here for a while, but I have to say that half of your post really offended me, and I am shocked that you would post that on an adoption board.

Bizzie-

I am shocked people are praying for the birthmother to get pregnant again!! The baby factory part was over the top, but adoptive parents must treat the first parents with more respect than to wish another unplanned pregnancy!!

I really don't think the poster intended any disrespect at all regarding the birthmother. Maybe she feels that the only way her husband would agree to adopting again is IF there were a bio sibling. I am not the poster so don't know, but really feel it was taken out of context.
