Readoption in WA sate
Yes, I've had to readopt all 3 of my kids, 2 that came home on IR4 and one that came home on IR3. The process was pretty simple, post placement homestudy and court papers. It costs $220 to file with the court. I used a lawyer so I don't know if you can do it yourself.

I also used a lawyer for our two kiddos that came home on an IR3 but I think it was more than $220.00 for us. I don't remember exactly now.
We had to get one post placement report, fill out the paperwork and then go before a judge. I was pretty easy but each step took awhile to complete. Shelly |

I didn't use a lawyer and it was fairly easy. Contact your Superior Court Clerk and you can buy a packet of sample forms for about $20.
I'm in Vancouver WA. Ruth

I am in WA state and readopted my DD (King County) and am getting ready to readopt my DS to get a WA State BC. I did the first readopt on my own and will do this one too. The first time I did call and pay for the packet of papers/doc. This time around my homestudy agency emailed the packet to me.
You file a bunch of forms with copies of certain docs from your adoption (like your medical form, financial form, a medical on your baby, etc.) - you do this before your first post placement interview/report. You get a case #, and then you get your first post placement report and file that and then you can set your court date and go before a judge. Once he signs off on it than you file some more papers and then order the WA State BC and any additional copies of the readoption decree at the same time.
