Casa Grande or Casa Hotel Serena?

Thinking ahead to when I receive pink and trying to figure out where to stay. I've stayed at the Radisson and Marriott and looking to stay somewhere different (a little more authentic). I saw a thread on Casa Grande and it looks like a winner, but how about Casa Hotel Serena? I know of one person who stayed there and loved it. Anyone else stay there that can give me feedback? Or if there's another B&B type hotel in Zona 10 that you've stayed at, please pm me. TIA

We stayed at the Casa Serena almost a year ago and really enjoyed our stay. We would stay again for sure. The apartment style rooms are great, our bathrooms were huge. You can get one, two or three bedrooms, and one or two baths. We had a two bath, two bedroom unit. Continental breakfast is included, with hot items at an additional cost. I don't think a whole lot of adoptive parents stay there, it does cater more to the business traveler, and there is not much common area to speak of, so if you are stuck in the hotel that may need to be a consider ation. There is no air conditioning, but we were fine with that. PM me if you have specific questions.

Tina

<i´m a >casa grande fan...going to be there again next week. I like the atmosphere and in terms of safety, how can you beat right next door to embassy?

We have stayed in several Guatemalan hotels and Casa Serena was our favorite. We liked it so much we stayed there almost 2 months while fostering. The suites are large, very clean and comfortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have on sight laundry facilities, fully equiped kitchens, tasty breakfast and nearby groceries. It is gated and we felt very safe there.
