Sam is 2!!
Sam celebrated his 2nd birthday on August 8th.
I am about 1 1/2 months late in posting pictures from Sam's birthday because I had to wait to get them from my FIL who went on vacation right after the party! I forgot to have him send them to me before he left so I had to wait! My MIL offered to make a birthday dinner for him so that I could spend the day having fun with the kids instead of cooking and cleaning--I love my MIL!! I made his birthday cake and we had a Thomas The Tank Engine theme as Sam is a HUGE fan of Thomas. He loves to sing the theme song for Thomas and other songs on his Thomas tapes. We went to a local mall where they have a wonderful indoor playground that the kids like and we basically played all day--Fun!! For the newbies who don't know Sam's story, but noticed the short timeline, I will give a sorta brief history.LOL We waited almost one year from Sarah's referral to her pick-up and were planning to adopt another Guatemalan child after we got settled with her. As we were packing to leave for pick-up, our agency called us saying that they had a Guatemalan Birth mom who wanted her baby placed in a home with another Guatemalan child. This birthmom lived in our State and it would be a domestic adoption. We thought the baby would be born about 5-6 months after we got Sarah. When we got to GC, we found out that the Birth mom had picked us and that her due date was the end of August (our pick-up of Sarah happened at the beginning of July). We got home with Sarah on July 21st, met with Sam's birth family on July 31st and 8 days later were called to go to the hospital to see our new son!!!  He was to go into a foster home until the time that his birth mom could change her mind was over but the foster mom broke her arm so we got to take him home from the hospital!! His birth mom did change her mind once but changed it back to going through with the adoption before we were able to bring him back to her. Our lives were VERY CRAZY with two new babies (13 months apart in age) at once!!  Sam has grown up so quickly! It seems like yesterday that he was a tiny baby. Here is my cutie pie guy then and now!

Here are some pictures from Sam's party.
#1 Sam with DH and I and his Birthday Cake. Sam really has the Happy Birthday song down pat and sings it with all his might. #2 "I can't believe I ate the whole thing!" LOL #3 "Bob the Builder" another fav of Sam's #4 "Wendy" (aka the princesa or the bossy sister) taking charge of opening Thomas. No serious injury resulted from the "Toddler War" that followed. LOL

Sam likes to wear other people's shoes--He is wearing Daddy's shoes in the picture.
Sam is a little copy cat. This is a picture of him doing Pilates with his Auntie Sherrie. We found Sam's train table used on the internet and I found his Thomas train set at a garage sale this summer. Sam Loves to sit on his table and play with his cars and trains. Dr. Sam likes to wear his stethescope around the house. It matches well with his Thomas PJs! I also found the "Take and Go" set at a garage sale and we keep that set at Grandma's and Grandpa's house and he plays with it for long stretches of time, which saves Grandma's pretty things from getting "explored" by a curious little boy. I love being Mommy to this special little guy. He keeps me running but he also keeps me smiling!!
