Resending Visa Cable 37?
We were refingerprinted in August since they were to expire on 09/13. Our I-171H is good until Christmas day. Based on others' recommendations, I emailed the embassy on Friday to double check that they had the new fingerprint expiration date. I am trying to avoid receiving an I-72 if/when this adoption ever finishes...
I received an email back from the embassy today stating that they "do not have this information in their database". They asked me to email them a copy of our documents. I assume they mean the I-171H and the new fingerprint expiration document? Do I need to request a new Visa Cable 37 be sent to them? If so, what is the procedure? Thanks so much! Carrie

I would...
If the Embassy is saying that they don't have your paperwork, I would put in a request to your local USCIS office (the one that issued your I-171H) asking them to resend your Visas 37 cable.
We were re-fingerprinted and then applied for and received a new I-171H. Although our local USCIS office said they sent the cable (which is generally just a fax or email), the embassy had no record of receiving it. We never got an I-72. Instead, our file just sat in the consular section with no action until we got our US Senator's office involved. The whole thing delayed our pink by about two weeks -- probably the most painful two weeks of my life. Hoping you don't have to go through anything like that! Best of luck. |

The cable is now sent through the National Visa Center. PM Jules17 and she can fill you in on the process. She had a difficult time with getting hers sent and now knows the ins and outs of getting it taken care of.
Good luck!

We sent a letter to our local USCIS office asking them to reissue the I-797C and Cable 37. We sent a copy of our original I-797C and the verification that our fingerprints had been done. This was last Thursday. I am waiting for the updated I-797C to come in the mail.
