Date on PGN Decree

Our lawyer sent us a copy of what I think is the final PGN decree. It has Barrios' signature on it, as well as the sig of who I believe is our reviewer (Aura Marina Wug Ojeda de Schlesinger). It says Diligencias voluntarias de adopcion on the top. The date at the very bottom, right before the signatures, says May 4. We were resubmitted on May 3. Does this mean that the reviewer approved our case the day after resubmit and it took Barrios 7 weeks to put his final signature on it?

Water under the bridge now if yes, but just wondering. I also know there's a reviewer between the original reviewer and Barrios.

Thanks!

Tina

That is probably what happened...it is normally signed off on by the reviewer long before Barrios signs it...6-8 weeks is not uncommon....

In the three years I have been here (through 3 directors) this has always been the case. The reviewer usually signs off within a few days - one or two days is not uncommon - and then the file sits for weeks on the directors desk waiting for the final signoff. Part of it is that PGN deals with many, many other things other than adoptions, but it sure would be nice if they could make the adoption files a priority!

I know that after our resubmits we have been back on the second reviewer's desk within a week or two. Then, both times, after eight weeks, we've received the KO's (from the second reviewer, not the initial reviewer). We have not made it to the director's desk yet. Apparently, you must go through two reviewers before you get to the big guy's desk.

Yep, that's what usually happens.. Our attorney told us we had been sitting on Barrios' desk for a month and a half, and this was just 6 1/2 weeks after resubmission.. So, I'm sure our paperwork will show the same thing..

We were approved by the reviewer 4 days after our resubmit and you can see below how long it took to get OUT after that. RIDICULOUS!

Back during the Hague of 03, it was discovered that the law says every previo or opina must be issued within 3 days of the submit or resubmit, so to make it look like they complied with the law, whether they did or didn't, they put those dates on the documents.

Hope this is coming out clear.

That makes absolute sense. We lived thru the Hague in 03 and I remember that being one of the issues the ADA brought against the PGN. It would make sense that they wouldn't want a paper trail that blatantly shows they are not in compliance with the law.

For us, we spent most of our time on the second reviewer's (assessor) desk. My dh called up there 2 weeks before we got out, that is where we were at. The next week we finally moved to Barrios' desk. All I have to say is this is one CRAZY process!!!
