So if your sweet child is 3, almost 4. What do I need to do for her airline ticket. She is obviously beyond the lap ticket option. Do you wait until after your appointment for some reason, or do I just book a one-way return ticket from Guatemala?

Then asking in advance....IF we get PA soon for our 1 yr. old and enter PGN and IF we get through PGN in 8 weeks or so, we are looking at November for pick up---We are hoping so!!! Do you ad vise taking our 4 yr. old dd with us for pick up? We have 5 other children at home but, I am wondering if attachment wise, if it would be best to take her with us on the pick up trip? any thoughts?

I just bought the one way return ticket for the girls once I knew our embassy appointment date. One way tickets are expensive and even for my toddlers, it was almost as much as my two way ticket.

We waited to buy our ticket when we were in Guatemala, with Continental Airlines.
It cost almost $1000! RIDICULOUS!!!!!!

I would personally check to see the price difference if you purchased the ticket here for a one way ticket, and a two way ticket.

Just make sure you have a copy of the new birth certificate before you book so you can be 100 percent sure how her name should appear on her ticket.

Personally, as far as the second pickup, I would either take her with you or only you or DH pick up your 1 year old. That is what we ended up doing wtih our son who came home 3 months after our daughter. I stayed home with her and our older son while DH and my Mom picked up our son.
