This is my worst nightmare. My 18 month olds were completely naked 3 mornings ago when I went in to get them up. My DD had pee'd on her bedding and a couple of toys. Not nearly as bad as what you describe but still not fun. I had tried these "natural" diapers a short time ago called g-diapers. They didn't work for us but the covers seemed to have stalled the diaper removal problem. They have a very thick velcro band on each side and they attach in the back so it would be very difficult for them to get off of themselves. They are also thin so I wasn't too worried about them overheating with a disposable and then the g-diaper cover. I had purchased a couple of starter kits at the local Whole Foods and they have 2 covers in each one for about $25. Or you can buy them on thier web site for about $14. Remove the inner plastic liner because you won't need it for this. If they still get it off and you come up with a better idea... please let me know. We will no doubt be the next in line with this problem is our latest attempts fail.

Good luck!
Shelly

My son loves to take his pjs off. We would find him so happy and so naked in the mornings. We started putting his pjs on backwards! It works if they are large enough the leg/footies parts just twist. Good luck.

Wink suggestion and future blackmail

I remember this well LOL...When my twin nephews were little they went through a very "artistic" phase with their favorite paint straight from the diaper So every morning you would go in and they would be completely naked and happily painting away! What we ended up doing was "shiny belts". We dressed them in the zip up full jammies and then did the nightly ritual of putting on their special "shiny belts" basically we put duct tape all the way around their chests just under the arms where they could not reach LOL It worked like a charm and now that they are 13 we have picture after picture of them in their shiny belts to show their girlfriends....

This is what we do with our babies. Else I end up with little nudists no matter what temperature. We also use onesies that snap in the crotch. Anna

Just wondering....does this happen when they wake up? Are they in a crib? Are they in the SAME crib? Are they getting out of bed and doing this? Maybe you could put something in their bed/crib after they go to sleep to distract them when they wake up. Or, use a monitor so that you can hear them as soon as they wake up and get to them quickly.
If this is just happening during the day, I think they are showing signs of being ready to use a potty. If you know about the time that they go to the bathroom, try to get them on the potty around that time to see what they do. Don't force it though.

Other than that, I have NO idea what to tell you! Sorry! I'd just keep them close by so that it doesn't happen again! UGH!!!

Do you still use a baby monitor? I'm assuming this is happening during naptime or first thing in the morning? Maybe a wrong assumption. Make sure you are buying diapers with velcro or noisy tape, then maybe you'll hear them taking their diapers off before they get it all over?

I'm sorry - this must be horribly frustrating! I would try the baby monitor and the overalls or pjs that snap around the waist so there's a snap in the back...or, could you put them in separate rooms during naps (or whenever it's happening?) Twins often feed off of each other's ideas and if they'd be separated - even for a few days - it might make the idea not so fun anymore.

Good luck.

Angry Okay ... DS is removing diaper

Well, I remember my mother regaling us with stories of how much of an "artist" my brother was when he was a baby ... oh, how we laughed

About two weeks ago on a very hot Saturday night DS woke up he was so hot ... so I changed his diaper and let him sleep on the floor in his room (on his play blanket on top of carpet) but I kept checking on him every 30 minutes or so ... after a couple of hours I put him back in his crib with only his diaper on so I could sleep. Fast forward his "calling" for me and I go in to find the diaper barely attached to one ankle and poopy drops all over his crib and a lovely wet area.

But I blame myself - perhaps, just perhaps I put the diaper on incorrectly (never happened before but I hate to blame him ) ... two hours later I change him and turn away for just seconds to throw stinky diaper into diaper champ and I hear the removal of one of the strips and look down and he almost has the diaper completely removed

So now I always always put soft shorts on him and that seems to work. No idea what I'd do if I had twins since they are so darn good at showing each other new tricks. Good luck - and no more laughing - Barbara

how about 2 diapers on (we do that, I have a pee pee monster)
and maybe even turn one backwards with the velcro on back.

good luck,
chris
