OT: My soy formula baby was given milk and now sick today
Hi everyone!
I have been searching the internet to figure out if my son has a virus or not. He had thrown up (sorry) three times today pretty significantly the last time I know at home. He is on soy formula. I don't know if he is lactose intolerant or has milk allergies but he can't tolerate milk based products right now. He is 11 months old. Daycare for what ever reason had "cheese sandwich" and "milk" written on his report today. When I got there no one could tell me if he really did have these or how much. None of them were there at the time. I am now trying to figure out if a child could possible get sick 3 times after drinking milk or if it probably has a virus. Thanks for any opinions. Becky

if it were bad milk...then maybe....but if it were straight milk allergy i think they'd most likely stop vomitting once it was out of their belly. if he is still "sick" tomorrow, then definitely a virus. either way, keep him hydrated....eli's doc says soy milk is good for upset bellies.

If he had the dairy then this is probably what the problem is. Our daughter was a Soy baby and had reactions like the one your describing when she had too much lactose. We slowly transitioned her to milk after she was a year old. She did not have an allergy but definitley had problems when she got too much lactose. She's 9 and this still happens sometimes like if she has cheese and milk during the day and then eats icecream later on in the evening she's pretty much feelign very sick all night. If he's not better by tomorrow AM then Iwould call the pediatrician.
I hoep he feels better soon, It's so miserable when they are feelign that crappy and they are so small.

Thanks guys! I hope tomorrow they can at least tell me whether or not they gave him milk. I keep thinking that he should be sick that many times on just a little milk but then I keep thinking "how ironic the day they listed milk he gets sick.
Thanks again Becky
