Memphis USCIS?
Anyone waiting on an I171H and/ or fingerprinting appointment from the Memphis office? Just wondering how long they're taking these days. Back in fall- winter 2005 they were terribly behind; I'm hoping that isn't the case these days.

Inconsistency rules
I don't know what their current timelines are but from what I understand, they are NOTORIOUSLY inconsistent. I sent the I600A in April 2006 and didn't receive the I171H until AUGUST - 4 months! (And there were no problems with our file; straight forward with no issues to resolve) Others during the same time were receiving them in 30-45 days... still others were still waiting after me. At first the office blamed Katrina and the extra duties because of New Orleans files being shipped there. I didn't buy it then and definitely don't buy it now. (As N.O. has reopened all USCIS offices.)

Hopefully it won't take long for you this time! I'm hoping we've moved by the time we start the paperchase for #2 and don't have to deal with Memphis again

Mom2Colin, We had a similar delay, no problems or unusual circumstances with our file, back in 05 -06. I mailed the I600A in Oct. 2005; we got our I171H in March 2006. I'm praying it doesn't take nearly that long this time!

Hi we live in Memphis we got our fingerprints done and I171H fairly quickly this was at the first of the year.

Ours was a year ago but after fingerprinting, it took about 6 weeks to get the I-171h
