Taking the Foster Family Shopping? Help!

When I arrive in Antigua, I want to take the foster family shopping for new
shoes, etc.

When driving though GC I saw a mall(?) that had a Payless Shoe Store, but
I'm trying to avoid hiring a driver to go BACK to GC an take us shopping.

When in Antigua, I didn't see any place like this..... any suggestions? Or
do you think going back to the city will be needed?

I just feel getting a driver, and one that uses good english, would cost me
$50-$60... which could be well spent on the family instead.

Just wondering if it would be easier to give them the cash? That way they can get what they really want, and may be too afraid (embarressed) to tell you. Plus just wondering if they may be insulted maybe if you tell them they need new shoes or clothes? Just a thought!
Anyway have a great trip!!!

I just want to make sure she buys the kids shoes......

I think me telling her I'm taking tthe kids shopping...... I would think she would be thrilled?

While she's there, I will ask for her to pick out a pair for herself.

I hope she's not offended.... but I'm taking the risk.... they have NOTHING!

I'm shocked there was a 15 watt bulb coming out of the ceiling!

When we were coming back from Antigua we too saw the mall. We asked our driver about stopping there and he said that he didn't think it was a safe place for us to be. Just a word of caution. I don't know of any other places to shop for everyday items (clothes, shoes, etc.) though.

Antigua Shopping

What about shopping at the Market in Antigua? If they are from there they might be able to navigate it better as it can be confusing (dark winding alleys)but there are LOTS of Shoe booths on the North side and Along the North West Wall with a huge selection and some decent stuff. Also there are a bunch of Shoe stores on The street where Bodagona is (the main food Store)- Actually it's the back entrance, I think it's 4th Ave?
Have fun
