It is just one little poloraid so I want to make sure that nothing happens to it. Has anyone tried making copies of it or enlarging it? How did the quality come out? Also, where do you keep it? In a frame? In an album?
It is a very sweet picture.

right now we have ours in the safety deposit box at the bank. I am not sure what to do with it either but I am hoping to make a copy of it and put that in a frame and a baby/scrap book. hope this helps a little.

I actually put it on the countertop and used my digital camera to take a photo of it. The picture quality came out great and you could not even tell it was a picture of a picture! I then saved it to my computer and I also sent it to my mother and sister. They printed it off and have it saved on their computer. I wanted to make sure I had some other copies somewhere just in case something happened to mine!

The original is in a safe box but I did make several color copies on my printer with photo paper and they came out great, it's hard to tell which ones are the copies. I intend to put it in a small photo album, along with some pictures of my daughter with her foster mom, which will stay in her night stand, next to her bad. That way she can pull it out whenever she feels the need to look at it. I did not feel it was necessary to have the birthmom's picture framed in the house, I do have a framed one of her and her foster mom in her bedroom, but I know some day my daughter will ask about her and I felt it disrespectful to her and her birthmother to, at that point, go dig it up in the basement in a box with her adoption papers. I feel I've reached a nice compromise.

I scanned mine and it turned out much better than I expected. The quality is the same as the polaroid. I plan to put a copy in his lifebook. I will also scan it onto a disc. I'll probably make several copies so that we'll always have one somewhere.

My mom passed away when I was 12 months old ! I don't have any pictures of her ! I would love to have just one picture of her ! So what ever you decide to do with it be sure you keep it safe !

I'm going to make an adoption album for my daughter. First, a picture of her birth mother, second a picture of her foster mother and third a picture of me, her "forever" mother.

I took mine to Walgreens, got copies- no problem and had the photo and copies put on a CD too.


I believe that in a year or 2, I will frame one of them (or perhaps a different one if there is one in the documents I get back) and put it in my son's room. She is part of our family and I want him to feel comfortable to ask me questions. I already have pictures of his foster family up around the house, so it will be another family member to add to the collection.

If you want to enlarge it, I would suggest taking it to a professional. They can do miraculous things with some of the software they have. We plan to get copies of our and have each one enlarged to an 8 x 10 for our children to have when they are older!!

I too have Lucy's BirthMother's picture out in a frame. I have Lucy's visa
picture blown up from the day I took her to the Embassy, and have blown up
her "first mommy's" pictures. They are in matching frames on our buffet as
you come into the house.

Lucy is now 3 and got a big girl room this past fall. I bought her one of
those fabric boards that you tuck pictures in and hung it up on the wall
next to her bed. It has family and friends... and her birthmother's
picture. She never asks, but one day when she understands this picture will
not be a shock to her, as she has grown up with it very close to her.

Stella will be home too very soon, and I'm already looking for frames to do
the same with her Birthmother's picture.

Last month when visiting Stella, we had dinner with Lucy's foster family.
It was more than wonderful! We took a group picture and have it out. She
has heard me say to others, "This is Lucy's foster Family who took care of
her when she was born." So now Lucy tells people that same thing, even
though she doesn't really understand.

We are making a special life book for Malea that has her adoption information in it and her birthmother's pictures. (we were lucky to get three. Two were when she handed the baby to the foster mother)
We will have this book for Malea for when she is ready to see it and that will be just for her to share with others if she wants to.

I hadn't thought about making copies... we will HAVE to do that!!!!!

I would scan it into my computer. Each picture I get I scan it in and then I have it incase anything happens to the original, (which is kept with our other imirtant papers). If we get a picture of her, I will do that and then put a copy in his lifebook.

I had only two small photos of my child's birthmother. I had an artist draw a portrait of her (just an 8x10 sketch). I know, that as Carter gets older, it will mean a lot to him. I also scanned the pictures I was provided. I then enhanced them accordingly. I also saved the photos on a flash drive along with other important pictures.

I put the pictures in a fireproof safe along with the adoption paperwork. With 4 of my 6 children by adoption I have multiple pictures of the biomother that we took. Only with these last two little ones do we have just the polaroid. Anna
