Question Higher end stroller advice, please (rockstar, buzz, bugaboo, etc)

Options: Quinny buzz, bugaboo, rockstar infinity, i-thru combi...

Do any of you guys have one of these strollers?

They are all front and rear facing. We are pretty sure we don't want to get the bugaboo because it is so trendy right now.
The combi i-thru is much less expensive, and might be fine but it looks like it's pretty much sold out this year, not sure if i can get it.
Anyone used any of these strollers or have friends with opinions?
We're also open to other reversible stroller ideas. We really want Julian rear facing for a while...
Thanks in advance!

I will speak up on behalf of the bugaboo. We have the cameleon and it is incredibly lightweight and very, very versatile (more than any others I've seen). I think it is popular and trendy for a good reason.

another option

Look into Aprica Strollers too- About midway on the price range between Bugaboo and Combi ($400)- Alot of them have reversable handles, are fairly lightweight have nice rubber wheels (~5") and fold up/ open with one hand. I got two used on Craigs list for under $100 each to bring to Guatemala and they were great- we call it the magic stroller because all the kids fell asleep in it so well. They are known for their design and if I had to have just one stroller it's what I would keep (I have WAY to many strollers).
Our all-terrain stroller is the Zooper Boogie and it has a reverable seat too, but is of course much bigger and heavier- great for neighborhood, park walks.
Have fun shopping!

Bugaboo

Buy the bugaboo NOW. It is the best stroller EVER!!!! If you think it is too expensive, sell it on Ebay when you are done with it and you will get almost all your money back!!!

funny....

I had a Graco for my daughter & LOVED IT!! I know it's not what you're looking for but thought I'd chime in with my experience. It held up for 4 years. I just bought another stroller (McClaren Volo) not sure I spelled it right... & I LOVE IT! It's wide enough for her & holds up to 55 pounds! I should last me another 1 1/2 years!

It's funny...kinda of OT but last weekend I did the Revlon Women's Cancer walk (I'm in LA) and there were lots of mom's with that Bugaboo then we see an "A-list" celeberty walking next to us & she had a Graco!! I just thought that it was kinda neat that I know she has LOTS of money & she had a Graco just like me!!

Anyhow...my friend just got a Bugaboo & loves it. She had another stroller for 2 years & she loves how easy it is to manuver.

Have fun shopping for a stroller!!!

Stokke Xplory

Okay, so this thread had me go looking for strollers again. My sister has a Peg Perego that lasted for three years (until her husband put the weed eater on it and got gasoline on it).

somehow I ended up looking at the Stokke Xplory which, although bizarre looking by today's stroller standards, looks wonderful. The stroller seat is reversibile and rides higher than regular strollers. I also found many great reviews of this stroller. At between $799 and $999 new, depending on whether you get the "carraige like" attachment, it is pricey but....

I am going to start searching for a used one today because it looks like the perfect stroller for me. My main reservation stems from the fact that we are adopting two and when #2 comes home a single stroller won't work anymore. DS is coming home next month at approx. 8-/2 mo (depending on embassy appt date - waiting on PINK - submitted yesterday) and then, DD (5 months younger) is coming home at the end of this year or beginning of next year (or whenver we get through the process - we have just begun).

Thanks for prompting me to look at these again.

I live in the Netherlands where the bugaboo is made. Everyone has them over here!! Even though it is trendy, it is great. I just bought one and lots of my friends have one too. It is so easy to work, manever, etc. i love that the baby can face you instead of only facing out. They hold their value as well. I don't think you will regret getting one.

It really depends on what you are using them for. I have researched lots of strollers and there are great ones for every type of activity.

The Phil and Teds stroller is getting popular especially if you have 2 children or are thinking about having/adopting another child within a few years. You can buy a single and the later buy a double seat that attached to the same frame. You can go back and forth between a single and a double. I have a friend who has one and it is cool. Made in New Zealand.

I loved the Urban Jungle too ( or Mountain Buugy I think it is called in the US). Also made in New Zealand.

The one thing about European strollers are the lack of drink holders (for adults and kids). But the bugaboo now comes with one for adults as an accessory. And you can also get a generic drink holder like at Traget, etc.

I will say the Quinny Zapp is a much nicer version of an umbrella stroller. It is light and folds up so small. We are getting one just for traveling on airplanes and for shorter trips. It gets really good reviews.

Best wishes. I spent hours and hours looking at strollers in stores. If you have any questions about the bugaboo let me know.

I have the bugaboo for my 19 month old and LOVE it! It is so smooth. You can literally go up and off curbs and bumpy sidewalks and it's smooth as ever. It's very lightweight too! It's super easy to push, even one handed. I was worried about spending that much but we are so happy we did.

You will love it! We got the red - it's so cute
