Hi everybody! I posted a couple weeks ago about our file being randomly pulled for investigation while in PGN. This is a brand new procedure so our agency didn't really know much about it, neither did our attorney. Today we finally got an update from our attorney on what is happening with the investigation. It makes absolutely NO SENSE, so I wanted to post the email for you guys to give me your thoughts on it. One of you guys had PM'd me that any investigation in PGN automatically goes to minors, even if the birth mom is not minor. Well, you were right! Our birth mom was 21 years old when our son was born. So, here is the email. I'm hoping for insight any of you can give.
EMAIL FROM ATTY:
Dear __: I took the mother last thursday MAY 3RD, for an interview with the investigator (I already took the mother to the psychologist of PGN). The investigator does not tell me anything. She said that she needed to have the school grades from the biological mother (I do not know what that had to do with anything), and that she was going to do that. I will keep checking with the investigator if she needs something else. I would keep you posted. regards,

I don't know anything about your circumstance, but just wanted to let you know that I am sorry this has happened. Things like this are so ridiculous, because it's the baby that suffers.

I am SO sorry that you are going through this. Yes, I agree, the email makes no sense at all, the whole thing makes no sense. Again, I am truly sorry for your grief, the stress, and the wait that you are enduring.

This is terrible, I am so sorry for you. I think I would be contacting that group who had a posting on their website last week about charging pgn reviewers for cases that were taking a long time. Sounds to me like you got a reviewer on a power trip.

I am sorry you are going through this. The Court of Minors is referring to the Minor Child. Minor birth mothers have additional steps in the process, but when they refer to the Court of Minors it is for a special investigation.

The only thing I can think is that maybe they question whether the birth mother was capable of making an educated decision about relinquishing her child. Or else they questioned something about identity and wanted more records showing identity from school? But if it's just another PGN ploy, then it certainly joins the list of rediculous stalling.

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe they do not think she is capable of making the decision. of course without being there I have no idea. Sorry

I thought the same thing--maybe the b/mom is developmentally delayed? I have no idea, just a thought...

Thanks so much everybody for your support. It is nice to know I have people who are willing to listen and agree with me on how crazy these PGN people are!!!! All I can do is wait it out a little longer and see what happens next. Since the reviewer asked for the grades last week I'm hoping maybe they got them this week. Of course, that may not be the end, they will probably think of something else to delay us. Thanks everyone!

Why her grades???? Unbelievable. Wonder what other reasons they are going to come up with. So SORRY you are going through this. We will keep you in our prayers for a quick resolution to this ridicoulous request.
