It's so sad. I just would have liked for my father to meet Erick before he passed. My father was suffering and tired from liver failure, so I know it was a blessing that he passed now (instead of lingering).....but it's still difficult. I hope Erick coming home soon will be a good thing for my mother (and all of us). She has been looking forwad to it. It's just strange to be celebrating a new child in the family when you are grieving a loss at the same time.

I am so sorry about the loss of your father.. My father passed away years before we had even decided to adopt again,so Bryce and Sofie will never know their PawPaw either.. But, in some way, I truly feel in my heart that my Dad was with Bryce and brought her to us.. She looks like him!

I am so sorry to hear your dad passed away and did not get to meet Erick. Several off us have lost a parent while waiting to bring home a little one(s). My mother's diagnosis of brain tumors and the babies referal all came in the same week. Her dream was to see them before she passed away. Sadly she lived only another 8 weeks. Bringing the girls home was a bitter sweet but gave me a lot of comfort and strength. I hope and pray this new little one in the family will bring comfort to all of you in this time of grief. I was also glad that my mother got to see their referral pictures and video. I was so glad we were able to bring home the girls that were originally referred to us since those were the ones my mother saw the pictures of. I hope you can also find comfort in the fact that your father knew Erick and you can tell Erick how much grandpa loved him and looked forward to him coming home. I'm so sorry Tracy....my father in law died just a few days before we found out we were pregnant w/#1. OUr baby really did help my mother-in-law deal with her loss. I know Erik will bless your family and I do pray for peace as you grieve the loss of your dad.
