coxsackie help please
Has anyones little one had coxsackie? Kaila came down with it last night.
We went to the Dr. this morning. I am curious when the sores in the mouth usually appear. Right now she only has the rash on her arms, hands, legs and feet. I was told the the mouth sores are very painful and I am wondering when to expect them. Thanks, Lisa

I noticed one sore on my son's tongue last summer on July 3rd. When I called my dr's office, they closed early because of July 4th...He wouldn't eat anything - he just drank...We were able to get him in first thing on July 5th...He only had the one sore on his tongue, but the rest were all down his throat...He didn't have any rashes on his hands or feet...It was pretty tough for a couple of days...He couldn't sleep because he was really uncomfortable...It lasted for about 5 days and then it was over. There was nothing we could give him - it had to run it's course.
Good luck! I hope your little one feels better soon.

Ask your pediatrician for something called Magic Mouthwash (well that's what we call it in PA). It was a prescription med that was kinda milky. It coated and numbed our daughter's mouth when she had it. Our daughter was almost 2 though so it may not work for an infant. She would swish it around and then spit it out. It really helped.
Good Luck

I think the blisters in the mouth usually come around the third or fourth day. It was two complete weeks of sheer pain here!
