Anyone want to forget they're adopting?

It's been nearly 5 mo since our referral and we don't even have DNA auth. I am losing my mind. I feel like our case is going so poorly. I'm worried we'll be delayed indefintely or that adoptions will shut down before we can complete the process.

"Our" baby is over 8 months old and we can't even visit b/c we can't get this frickin DNA!!!

I feel so drained and hopeless, and we've barely started! I almost want to forget we are adopting. I think I'd rather be surprised with a "come pick up your baby" call.

Am I nuts or what?!

I am so sorry!! You aren't nuts at all...this is so hard even without long delays like this one. I just wish I lived closer so I could give you a big hug in person.
You know I want nothing more than for them to call you with your DNA done so you can get down there to see Zack. I really hope you hear something good very, very soon.

Oh my dahling...

We were SO there! We were miserable. We just kept waiting and waiting and waiting. We finally said "We're coming!" - so you better have DNA done! ;-) Not sure if it worked, but DNA was taken a few days before we left.

We did not meet our boys until they were 8 months old. Those months waiting were just SO "unnecessary."

BUT.....once we held those little guys, it didn't matter. It just all melted away. And that's what I'm holding on to now - that once we finally get our babies, this whole last year just won't matter.

Just stay strong, be agressive, if you haven't already. We were so "patient," but in hindsight I wish we had been a little bit more pushy.

I'm here if you ever need to talk. I felt so alone waiting out my DNA, while everyone else commiserated together waiting on the black hole of PGN.

HANG IN THERE!!!

((HUGGGGGGSSS)

I feel your pain. We visited at 6 months and we miss him soo much now Sometimes I wish we had visited a little later but who could guess we would spend 4 months in family court. Now he will be 1 year old in 3 days.

I hope you get DNA done soon and that your PGN stay is quick.

3 days 'till Bryan Carlos eats

Sounds like to me you need a visit trip. I know these can be somewhat expensive but atleast you could stay with your little one a few days in the hotel! Might do you some good, let your attorney know how informed you are and that you are there....accountability for your attorney.

Have you tried calling your local Senator. He/She should be able to tell you what is happening with your case. Sometimes it is NOT what we are being told, this is based on my personal experience. Best of Luck!

That's an appallingly long time to wait. I know others wait that long, but i still think it's absurd! A friend of mine just picked up her baby to bring her home at 5.5 months. I also got my baby at 5.5 months old. I'd push harder and harder and harder. It can be done faster. Don't let anyone tell you differently.
