Hotels in Antigua
We would like to spend some time in Antigua on our next visit. Does anyone have any hotel recommendations? I would prefer something with a pool.

We love the Porta Hotel Antigua, it has a beautiful pool and wonderful restaurant. As a matter of fact it's very romantic in the evenings. It always gets my vote.

I just stayed here for 5 days about a month ago and it is FANTASTIC! Its a small hotel run by a husband and wife team with 6-7 rooms. Its beatiful! It has a rooftop terrace, fountain, and is quiet. It has a small pool with wonderful food. Its right in Antigua.
They have a web site if you just search the name, antigua and guatemala.

Porta Hotel Antigua has a great pool and wonderful atmosphere.
If you are more budget conscious, you might consider the Hotel Aurora. No pool, but a fabulous authentic Guatemalan atmosphere for about 1/3 the cost. Very clean, two blocks off the square, free breakfast of fruit or local bread, and Juan's fantastic hot chocolate. Simple, but very inviting. Have a wonderful trip.
