i got my packet back today YEAH! <nevermind that i originally submitted it in mid-November!> In it were a few things I did not know/paperwork i had not seen:

1) what time our son was born (11am )
2) how much he weighed at birth (6 lbs, 12 oz)
3) 3 new pics of him, 2 new pics of his birthmom
4) our atty's email address <this could be fun ...j/k>
5) the paperwork from one of our k/o's
6)the embassy medical (which wasn't much...i was glad to know that eli had no history of violence or tobacco use at age 9 1/2 months...lol!!)

so, if you haven't done it already b/c you didn't think it was worth it....you never know what info is in there you didn't have before. file it....it is not that hard (even when they make you get all your supporting docs notarized ) for me, just knowing when my son was born and how much he weighed makes it totally worth it!!!

Although after spending a week with mine and witnessing first hand, "boys will be boys" - All they did was bang on walls, bang on me and bang on each other - I'll now have to worry about their embassy medical and the discovery of their "violent tendacies"! LOL

How long did it take for you to receive this info? I sent mine form in about 2 months ago and haven't heard anything yet.

I have the time of birth and weight on the birth certificate...but I'm really hoping for some more pictures!

It is totally bizarre to me that everyone gets different things in their packet, but 99 percent of the time it seems people get something that made it worth fillng out the form.

kacmom---i don't remember exact timelines, but it was mid-november when i originally filed, mid-december when i re-filed b./c they wanted all my supporting docs to be notarized (don't panic...eli or i must have a shady past i don't know about b/c this doesn't happen often), and the package was mailed to me on march 26....so it looks like 3 months and a week or so (ish..) from the second filing it was sent out. and it took the mail a week to get it out here so don't panic yet, give it another month.

When we got Jacob's back... I got to see what the REAL hold up was in PGN... our incompetent attorney!

Our agency said it was just the run-of-the-mill delays in PGN, but now I know better... there were SEVERAL typos and mistakes in our paperwork that were causing the previos! ergh!!!! I feel awful that Jacob's birthmother had to keep coming in to sign new docs just because our attorney kept messing up.

It is interesting what you get in that file! Sadly, I didn't get ANY new pics... so I may refile. Do you think that they truly send EVERYTHING? I am worried maybe I have everything and there weren't any more pictures in there. We only have the paper copy of the DNA pic and I would LOVE the original.

Oooooooohhhhhhh BROOK that is SO awesome! I would give ANYTHING to know Mikayla's birth weight and time. I have been pondering on what to put in the "blank" in her baby book for FOUR WEEKS. Maybe I will hold off and see if I get lucky and get info like that in my packet. I sent it off today. It is so amazing how such a small tidbit of information like that makes something so worth it. I would be happy to learn just ONE new thing. Just ONE.

this is the link to download the form to get back the docs you handed over to immigration upon enterring the U.S. You can file for this once you have the COC (Certificate of Citizenship).

I submitted mine to buffalo, and that is where they sent it to me from...BUT I did also have to re-submit all my supporting docs notarized...so i don't know if that is the best option!

Apparently someone who holds our original documents located their "outbox" a few days ago, because ours came in the mail today as well! The guy at the PO tried to give me a hard time about picking it up since it was addressed to my hubby, but I think he quickly realized I was going to come over the counter after it! We filed our G884 just after new years, so it took about 3 months total.
