2nd Prayer Request from MAJOR Longtimer
We have been in this process for a LONG time and our daughter is now almost 22 months old. As you may remember, a few weeks ago I asked for prayers so that we could get an earlier court date than 3/28. So many of you prayed for us and posted such kind words & I thank you for that. Well, for whatever reason, it was not meant to be earlier. Now, the court hearing is to occur TOMORROW. I am so excited, though nervous at the same time, so I'm posting again asking for more prayers.
I'm praying that the court hearing actually takes place (it was postponed in 11/06) & we get a positive ruling at the hearing. As I mentioned before, we've been waiting to get out of Minor's Court for almost a year! Nothing has occurred in that time--no investigation (beyond the interview of the birthmom on 2 or 3 occasions), no review, just paperwork sitting on someone's desk since Aug 06, when PGN's paperwork was submitted. We need the judge to rule that the adoption can continue and give the baby back to the mother (so she can release her for adoption) or give the baby to us so we can proceed (I didn't understand this when the lawyer told me; I thought we weren't even part of the case yet)--both scenarios would allow us to submit the case to PGN again, and pretty quickly. The 3rd possibility would give the baby to the orphanage director and prolong things by a few MORE months because of papers that would need to be filed. Obviously, we want the quickest route. We pray we can bring our daughter home, and SOON. Thanks again for your support and prayers. Damaris
