pay for expired prints??

Does anyone know if we have to pay to get our fingerprints redone if they expire? We aer going to start a second adoption, we are approved for 2 children through immigration but the fingerprints are expired. Is it the same price to get printed again, like the $600.00

Check to make sure your approval hasn't expired. If it has you have to file a new I-600A application. That was the issue that we ran into. It was another $685 and we have to be fingerprinted again.

Yes, you do have to pay again but it shouldn't be $600 I don't think. I think the fingerprints were around $75 and the I-600 was around $545. Your fingerprints expire after 15 months and your I-600 after 18 months. I'm not sure about all of the numbers but I think I am relatively close.

It's just $70 for each person over 18 in the home. Then the new -600A (after your expires) will cost $545.

Daphne is correct; also please note that USCIS fees are supposed to be increasing in April so the sooner you do it, the better. It shouldn't take long to schedule them. Just send your USCIS office a letter stating you need the fingerprints re-done for an adoption from Guatemala, include a check for the fee ($70 x # of people over 18 in household) and it's usually scheduled pretty quickly. BTW, there was a thread asking people to write to USCIS telling them the impact that these increased fees would have on us. They were hefty percentage increases for everything from I-600A to visa fee & fingerprints. It may not be too late to send them comments.

We are in this situation right now. If fingerprints are going to expire, but you still have 3 more months on the 171 fee, then it's $70 per adult fingerprints taken. Our sister in law lives with us, so we have to pay for 3 sets of fingerprints. Hopefully, we'll be final before our immigration paperwork expires, which is 3 months longer than the fingerprints. (Isn't that ridiculous??) If that expires, we have to re-apply and the fees are going up in April, as a previous person stated. How do these people sleep at night?? Very frustrating!
