Hello everyone who is very early in the process but is still moving along. We are going to make this a weekly post/thread where we can share information, joys and stress as we move through the process of adoption together. It will also be a great way for us to learn more about each other and make some lasting friendships!
The name might change but I really like the word persistent. I think we are all persistent as we keep moving toward the child out there that we know is waiting for us to find them even thought it is a stressful time where lots of changes appear to be on the horizon.
Everyone is welcome if you are just starting with your homestudy, finishing your dossier, waiting for your I-171H or waiting on a referral.

Well I am so glad that this is created. It will be awesome to have others to talk with. We are waiting on 171H approval and then referral of our daughter. Let's hope for a smooth ride with all the turmoil going on.

Ok, heres my boring paperwork update.
Had last hs meeting 2/24. Just got a form she forgot to give us this weekend so hoping to get that in asap so she can complete hs.
Boys med letter is being redone and hopefully I can pick up this week. My job letter is being redone also this week. Waiting on 1 witness statement redo.
Having MAJOR issues getting a notary to my docs office now which is very annoying.
Im awaiting my passport which states should be here at the latest March 13th.
Otherwise we are pretty much done with the papers others need to do. Hoping to send off for certification to the state in 2 weeks.

Hi all! As you can see from my signature I am awaiting my final HS report...I should have it by 3/15...hopefully!!! I live in NJ, so I can't send in my I600A until I have the notarized HS report, so hopefully in 2 weeks I'll be mailing that in.

As far as the dossier goes, again I'm waiting on the final HS so I can send everything out at once for State Seals & then onto the NY Guat Embassy for authentication. I'm hoping this can all be completed by month end...keeping everything crossed!!

I guess I fit in here. Are dossier was recently mailed to Guatemala. A little further along, but just as scared.

I guess we did things a little backwards. We actually found him on a photo waiting child list. So we found him first then did our paperwork. We were a little ahead of the game though. We already had our Home study and
I-171H done but for a different country. So we just needed to get changes to those and complete a new dossier for Guatemala.

Is it ok if I join? Our situation is really different. We have been waiting for a baby from Japapn for 4 yrs. We saw our little boys pic on a referral site and fell in love so we changed everything to Guat. in Dec and started the wait all over.

Our dossier is in Guat. but no movement yet. Our 171 runs out in April so we are refiling that again this week. More Waiting!!!!

I'm very scared and unsure of what to do and what to ask since this in our 1st international adoption.

Hi everyone. We, too, are early in the process. We are finished with our homestudy and have all of the dossier docs gathered and notarized and we will be sending them for certification and authentication this week! We filed our 1-600 about 4 weeks ago and so we are still waiting for our fingerprint appointment.

We have 2 bio kids and really have our hearts set on a third baby boy from Guatemala! Hoping for the best for everyone here!

I am Tracey. We adopted Bella in 2005, and are waiting on a referral for a baby girl. We have been officially waiting since 2/23, so about 10 days.

I guess we fit in here too! We have signed with an agency. We've got our homestudy this week, and are working on putting together our dossier.

We have 3 bio little boys, and are waiting for a little girl!

Hi everyone. We, too, are early in the process. We have one 17 month old daughter who we adopted from Guatemala last year. She is an angel!!!! We actually just celebrated her 1 year home coming last week! And now we are hoping for another Guatemalan baby to bless our family.

Add us to the list - we just started our second adoption for a little girl. We have submitted the I-600A and are in-process for completing the homestudy. I get the feeling we are in for a bumpy ride...........
