Regular room at the Westin or the Master Suite at The Grand Tikal? What do you all say?

Ohhhhh. Tough call. I just LOVED the pool at the Westin. So beautiful! Visit trip #2. But the room at the Grand Tikal - which is a beautiful suite for the same price - really ROCKED the Casbah!!! Not to mention the Thai Grill restaurant. Visit trip #3. Check out my blog for a few pictures.

If you NEED to be outside - and have some grounds to walk around - then I would say go for the Westin. If the room and food action are the key - go for the Grand Tikal! May the force be with you!!!!

Thnx Laura - It's my pick up trip so I'm not stuck inside the hotel.

Ditto what Laura said--since you aren't stuck inside room for PU, I'd say Westin because it is in zone 10 and safer to walk around...lots of tourists and fantastic restaurants, shops, pharmacy close by, etc.

Grand Tikal is beautiful w/great rooms and attached mall, but not the safest area to walk outside.

I also stayed at the Radisson and Marriott and really liked the size of the Radisson's rooms...but I think the Westin's pool rocks so I'd likely stay there if I ever went back (plus the location)

When we went on Pick up we were looking at both of these hotels. We picked the Westin for the reasons stated above.
We loved the Westin. The shops were great. The restaurants were great, the pool was great, the room was great, the Family room was great....... so yea....... the westin was great !!!!!LOL
