MO name Change problems

I submitted the paperwork for Nicole's name change in November. In January I called and was told the person who handled them was out until mid- Jan. Today I got paperwork stating they need the Adoption decree (which paperwork is this? I sent the PGN) and the birth certificate was not notarized. Okay do they mean that we need to get it notarized and than send it in or do they want a copy of the orginals with the Guat notary? They also need English translation of the BC, copy of passport, and a copy of the photo in the passport and a copy of the visa in the passport. This is important to know because the forms did not ask all this info. I have been looking foward to getting her BC and now it looks like it will take months longer. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

It tooks at least four months (in MO) for us to receive our daughter's new birth certificate after our recognition hearing at the court house.

I believe we gave them the original PGN decree that we received (we got in back in the mail with the BC)

Our court date for the name change is March 2. The Protocolo is the Adoption decree. They said it would take 7 months to get our baby's birth certificate. MO is all backed up!!!

If you are close enough to drive to jefferson city they can do it for you in about 10 minutes or so. For me it was a 6 hour round trip drive but I did it anyway because they told me if I mailed my info in it would be 5 months. Make sure and call first and find out exactly what you need. I was told if I brought all the originals of everything in person I wouldn't need anything notarized. They just make copies of what they need and give you back the originals.
