I need experienced folks to tell me what they did please??
OK...we found out our little one is now 17.5 lbs. and 28 inches long. So according to the sizing on clothing tags for 6-9 mon. clothes he is not in that size yet. Then 9 month only on the tag, he fits in that size right now, but he is gaining 2 lbs. a month average since birth. So if we do get out of PGN this week and then 2 weeks until travel for us......then that is almost another month of growing. So...how do you figure all of this out? OK..so here is the question. Did you take down clothes that you wanted your child to wear OR did you take down a few outfits and then bought clothes in Guatemala? I've learned that there is a store similar to a huge chain store in the US, around the corner from the Marriott....but we likely won't be staying at the Marriott. Then there is the thought of having the clothes that we buy there washed before wearing. So I need a little..............lot of guidance on this subject pretty please??? Thanks in advance!

Hi!
We brought our son home when he was 5 months old and I had no idea how big he was! I did bring all the clothes because I wanted to wash them. My son is now 8 months old and weighs about 19lbs. He is wearing mostly 6-9 months size but what I like on him the best is the Carters brand and 9 month size. It is just a little big and he is very comfortable in that brand! I have found that not all sizes are the same so that's why I like Carters best! Good Luck and wishing you a happy and safe trip!

Hi Melodie,
It's your comrade with the same lawyer here. I waited until we were out of PGN to really start shopping for pick up trip clothes. We took all of the clothes we wanted to wear during our trip with us - mainly because I wanted them washed before she wore them. We had everything else set up so there was time to shop for the trip after getting out of PGN. I already had the onsies, socks, t-shirts and stuff like that because there is such a big range to the sizes. I also had blankets and bibs ahead of time too. But all of the special outfits and diapers that needed more specific sizes within a 3 month range - I waited to get when I was out of PGN. Hope that helps.

Look at your baby's growth pattern - how much is he growing a month? Is he adding one or two or three pounds and then go on that.
Remember - whatever you don't have with you, you can definately buy. There is 3 or 4 story shopping mall right around the corner from the Westin. If you are not at the Westin (or a hotel near there) you can always hop in a taxi.

Hi, well I think you should stay with the 6 month size. They are on the shorter side of the american size clothes. Also as the babie is more active they dont gain as much so fast. My son is on the large side as far as legth and he is 9 months and that is the size he is in. Good luck and have fun on your pick up. Kim

We brought down all clothing. There would not have been time to shop for items. Overal I brought clothes that were bigger but had cuffs that you can roll on the pant legs and sleeves. Or those cute one piece outfits with feet on them. Just put socks over the outside and it will help the legs stay up. Anna

hey melodie - we just switched DS to 9 month clothes and they fit well. our son is 8 months old - i don't know his current weight.
I would think the 6-9 would fit but maybe take a couple that are 9 month just in case. I know on our pick-up a couple of the sleepers were too big but it really didn't matter because he couldn't roll or crawl to get tangled in the legs. have fun shopping!!!

Hi!
We took down outfits in a couple of different sizes and we kept the ones that fit to use for him and left the rest at the orphanage (you can also leave with the FM, if your child is being fostered). They can always use extra clothes and it's a good gift for the children who are still waiting for their forever families. Hope this helps.
