I would bring both, and the carrier (like a baby bjorn) can fit underneath the stroller when you are not using it. Just make sure your stroller has a carry all bag attached!

We brought both. The stroller was great for going around Guatemala and in the airport. Trey was almost 8 months...so we bought a cheap umbrella stoller just for the trip (as I've already had one good stroller destroyed by the airlines).

The carrier we used for the Embassy and around the hotel.

I would bring both just because if you get tired of carrying your little one you could use the stroller and the carrier could be put underneath the stroller when not in use (like said before).. Hope you have a GREAT trip!

i do not know that the stroller would hav helped. at teh Marriott they had highchairs in dining rooms and family room so feeding baby in stroller not necessary. When we visted antigua for the day, the stroller would have been a hassle (cobblesones, narrow sidewalks, small aisles in stores/markets) and when we went to the embassy there was no room in waiting area for the stroller plus it was a pita waiting for the woman in front of us to get through the rotating entry with the stroller. The carrier insured we cuddled and held our ds. For the 4 days we were there, I do not think i wished I for a stroller once

We had an umbrella stroller, which was helpful in the airport and at mealtimes, since our 7 month old son couldn't sit in high chairs...slid out.....AND a sling, which was a lifesaver when he was melting down (and we still use it to soothe him now at 9 months), and was what we used for our embassy appt and walking around town. (Even Guatemala City is hard to navigate in a stroller, since the traffic is ferocious and the curbs don't have the handicap ramps...we preferred to have the baby closer to our body as we braved the traffic!)
Good luck!

I haven't been for pick up yet but when I went for a visit and saw the people who were picking up their kids at the airport with a stroller...I decided then that I would only take a carrier. The babies in strollers going through the throngs of people at the airport entrance....no way I want my son down there among the legs of all those people...It was like cattle pushing through a chute....I want him up by me.

We just brought a carrier (an Ergo) and that worked out fine. Before the plane ride home we put her in it a little more time each day, and by the time we flew back she was pretty accustomed to it.

We only took a Baby Bjorn, and were happy with that. I think a stroller would have been a pain in the rear. The airport was extremely crowded when we were there, and saw a lot of people trying to lug them and their luggage through the crowds. Our agency wouldn't allow us to take them to the embassy, anyway.

We took both, but Bryce hated the carrier, and we used the stroller for the airport mostly... I will try both again with Sofie just to be on the safe side..

We` took a carrier for the visit trip and both a stroller and carriers for the pick up trip. I guess that depends on the age and size of your baby.
